I can't find this at all.

I see a link farther down the page, but can't open it.
You have to press play on the main show link at the top to listen to the full show and then skip to the 2 hour 45 minute mark.
Ahhhh. I was thinking 2 minutes 45 second mark.

EDIT: Good tune. Agree with whomever said it sounded Prine-ish.

Yeah, that's fucking good. Saw him last night in Portsmouth - first time in prolly 7 years. Sparse crowd, but a great show.

Two buses (his, then the bands, apparently), a big trailer, and a semi - the boy has made it.

Was If We Were Vampires acoustic or electric? Thoughts on the song?

I don't like the panning and one side isolated guitars. I have to assume this is the final mix. Maybe it sounds better without headphones. Children of Children sure sound better on speakers than headphones.

Saw them last week in Chattanooga and "If We Were Vampires" really messed with my wife. She was tearful and said it was a horrible song. I guess it will be the tear jerker on the album.

I was speaking more of the drum sound and the general muddiness. I'll reserve further judgment until I hear the actual album

I've never really liked the Cobb sound on Jason's music. I know I'm in the minority though.

I'm with you on this. I don't like Cobb's production in general to be honest. The vocals are always too high in the mix for me among other things.

"Cumberland Gap" seems pretty heavily influenced by Ryan Adams.

Not sure what kind of distortion is on Jason's voice, but it's kinda driving me crazy.

White Man's World and Anxiety have me excited.

The double-tracked vocals on Chaos and Clothes is super weird

Glad I'm not alone. My favorite album of his is Houndmouth. The quiet stuff just doesn't sound right to me. I do like the first 2 off this one more and I'm guessing it's because they are rockers.

Someone said it sounded like Ryan on another board. I hadn't heard RA before but now it seems obvious. Chorus is too repetitive but I like the verses.

Far be it from me to question someone's artistic choices, but I feel like "Cumberland Gap" could use a smoking guitar solo. The kind that either Jason or Sadler is eminently qualified to deliver. Oh well.

"If We Were Vampires" is sublime. He's one of the only contemporary songwriters who write love songs I can stomach.

As a sufferer of anxiety... you want to talk about a song that perfectly encapsulates what anxiety can do to the mind, this one does it. Holy hell

They played Vampires at the Chattanooga show and I looked over at my wife and she was bawling her eyes out. Then she says "this song is horrible". I guess it must be a pretty good song to have that kind of effect.

Agreed. Perhaps we have our "Space City" companion piece for this hypothetical reunion tour.

Whoa! Easy now. Back that trolley up a bit. I really like it so far, but no comparison to Space City. I like the Magician better than this as of right now. Just sayin' :)

Haha. I'm not saying it's on that level (in fact, to me, it definitely is not). Just thematically similar.

Judging from what I've heard of the album, I really like it!! I preordered it and can't wait to have it spinning on the box. Jason is one of my all time favorite writers, and he's got a kick ass band behind him.. Sadler on guitar is worth his weight in gold!! im excited for this Albee album and can't wait to see how far it'll go!

Got a sneak peek the other day; nothing earth shattering, but I think it's more my speed than the last 3 or so. Really dug it, especially Tupelo & Molotov. Pretty sure Chaos & Clothes is about Ryan Adams, similar to New South Wales being about JTE.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Yours is the first fan review I've found online and I'm glad to hear you dig it. Can not wait to hear it myself. Good for Jason that it hasn't leaked, yet, I think this is his first album since Sirens that didn't leak way ahead of release.
