Lately, when I'm skimming around spotify looking for songs to play, I pretty much skip over Nashville Sound, but when I play the album, I still like to listen to it.

I'm genuinely relieved that maybe I'm not just a musical Luddite because his latest few albums just don't do it for me. The first 3 are my favs by far, perfectly happy to listen to them start to finish. The other ones are playlist fodder.

I downloaded and gave the 7-22-17 show from St Augustine a spin.
Maybe not the first time he has done it, but a full band show with zero DBT era songs...
Heck, the only thing he played that wasn't on the 3 most recent releases was Codeine. (Not including Whipping Post_.
Doesn't bode too well for the set list variation we all crave with Jason...

Hope the High Road
24 Frames
White Man's World
Codeine
Molotov
Last of My Kind
Super 8
Speed Trap Town
Cumberland Gap
Something to Love
Chaos and Clothes
Something More Than Free
Flying Over Water
Stockholm
Cover Me Up
If It Takes a Lifetime
Anxiety
Encore:
If We Were Vampires
Whipping Post

Jason and the 400 Unit’s NPR Tiny Desk Concert. They did Chaos and Clothes, Molotov, and Last of My Kind. I thought it was very interesting to hear Chaos and Clothes without the vocal effects.

News is about a week old, but it appears The Nashville Sound was nominated for CMA Country Album of the Year. Not a big fan of the awards shows and I think this is far from Jason’s best work, but I suppose its nice to see the industry recognition.

It's good recognition, but it's kinda weird that the album was nominated, but no songs were, nor was Jason for Male Artist of the Year

Speaking of The Nashville Sound, it’s on vinyl on Amazon for a little over $16 right now after taxes. Not a bad deal, just picked it up with a gift card.

Just a follow up on Amazon, it's currently under $12 on vinyl for those so inclined...

Wife is watching "This Is Us" off the DVR, and they're using "If We Were Vampires"...
