I'm getting so excited, it's tough to focus at work! We will be making the trip from SW Louisiana, about a 10.5 hour drive. I've only been to Nashville once, two years ago, to see Jason's first Ryman show. That was a truly memorable show, too!

Going Friday night. This Robert's Western World wouldn't happen to have tv's would they? There is a pretty important baseball game on pre concert :D . Speaking of that, I went to the Ryman shows last year, I don't remember Amanda or any opener coming on before 9, that sound right? Was in the same predicament last year as the playoffs were on that friday night and we got to watch most of the game before we hustled over to the Ryman.

Go Royals!

I got this in an email from the Ryman today:
The opening act will take the stage each night at 8:00 p.m. followed by Jason Ibell at 9:15 p.m.
I will be there tomorrow night! Hope to make it by Robert's to meet you all and thank you in person for the Jason SOTWs. I don't have much to add but have been enlightened by the discussion!

Super curious to see how varied the set lists are night to night. He's usually pretty rigid with them, but he can't play the same show 4 times, right?
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever

Good to see that he's moving the songs around. Nice to see 7 mile island back in there too.

Sorry if this was already posted, I didn't see anything. Tonight and tomorrow (Sun and Mon) night's Ryman shows are being streamed on tourgigs.com, $12.99 for each night or $20 for both

According to Twitter, they're going to do SMTF in its entirety tonight.

Hmmmm, not thrilled about that. Love the album, but I would like some variety. If it was Sirens he was doing, that would be different. He never touches most of those songs anymore, though I wish he would.

Yeah, and I thought it was great. They opened with the whole album, then took an intermission and came back and played another set. The webcast was pretty great, though I had some pretty bad audio distortion starting with Flagship and through the next few songs. Right in the middle of Flagship it got noticeablely louder and then when the full band came back for the next song it was too loud and distorted. I wondered if it was my setup, but I read a few other people on Tourgig's Facebook complaining about the audio this morning so I guess it was on their end. The webcast is running on a loop all day, so I've got it on in the background while I work. Curious to see if they fixed the audio.

Anybody else watch and notice the audio issues?

I was listening on headphones and thought it was them. Watching it again now on my tv, sounds better now. I only caught the first set last night, about to start the second set.

Got home late last night from our Nashville trip. Friday night was spectacular, and being on the first row was utterly amazing. My friend ended up with Jason's pick that he threw out at the end of the show, and asked the tech for Jason's setlist, and he obliged. Here are some pics:

Not a great mix of songs for a 4 nighter.

Cut half of the Southeastern songs and replace with "any song with Jason on electric" and you would have some really great shows.

I'm with you.

So he likes to promote his new songs and stay largely within his modern era, which I understand. But four nights in a row in the same place had to have a lot of repeat customers, and why not spice it up some? He varied maybe 2-3 songs per night. Why stick so close to the everyday set list instead of digging deeper and really thrilling your fan base? At least vary 4-6 songs per night at these residency gigs, give people something they wouldn't normally expect at any random show. It's the difference between having a successful run and carving out something for the ages. Even in his success, he seems to sell himself short given the quality and depth of his back catalog at this poht.

When my buddy texted me from the show Saturday night and said he opened with Seven Mile Island, I really thought he was going to dig deep and make an event out of these shows. I did enjoy watching the webcasts on Saturday and Sunday, though, and really loved that he did SMTF in its entirety.
