This is Lurleen's friend Carly's son. He's the same kid Lurleen posted about that thought the Cooley lyric was "squeezing his nuts with a hot copper wire". His name is Charlie. Favorite song: Drag The Lake.

Oh, there's a simple solution for this. Don't look at it.

Are you sure that kid's not this kid?

no, Twitter is way better...saw this quote on FB and it sums it up:

"Facebook makes you hate people you already know. Twitter makes you love people you've never met."

Twitter is so much better. You can just follow bands and sports and whatever topic or people you're interested in. You don't need to see everyone else's comments regarding it. You don't have to see your annoying friends from high school posting stupid pictures or people being negative or stupidly overly political. You get updates sooner. I can get daily Mitch Hedberg and Iron Sheik tweets. You can also be a voyeur and read Shonna and Jason's tweets back and forth, Neko's tweets to Shonna, etc. It's faster and more concise information that can be more specific to your interests. Facebook is a time suckage and is way too much info about people. Athough now I find FB to be an awful necessity because my family, including my 70 year old aunt, is on there.

I don't find Twitter much relevant to me. I don't enjoy not being able to answer a comment (because if I follow them and they don't follow me, I'm invisible. I don't like to be invisible.). I find it to be somewhat masturbatory and I'm not much interested in watching you do that.

So my feeling is that different social media appeal to different people differently.

On Facebook you don't have to hear anything you don't want to hear. Don't want to hear stupid things from stupid people from high school? Don't be friends with them.

Twitter has its purpose, I just haven't been bothered to figure it out. I set up an account, chose some people to follow (Patterson, MMJ, Louis CK, etc.), but every time I log in, there are a bunch of posts from people I'm not following (and they're not retweets). If the site isn't intuitive enough for me to jump right in, I usually can't be bothered (especially since I end up reading a lot of the tweets I'd want to from other sources anyways).

You can turn off the retweet function for specific users, this drove me crazy until I figured it out.

Is that really the way it works? That sucks. That means Neko Case hasn't been seeing any of my tweets! Two years of laying groundwork, wasted. :x

No, Neko can still see what you tweet to her. I get replies back all the time from people I tweet to that aren't following me.

A lot of twitter talk today about Jason quitting booze. Guess that accounts for his "vacation" from twitter earlier in the year???

He Tweeted about it a month or so ago. Mentioned it in a recent interview as well.

Patterson's starting to post as much on Instagram/FB as Jason does on twitter/FB. I think this week he even posted a pic of his food, which is an all-time low IMO.

But if it was the food he got served at Peter Buck's wedding (or whatever it was) maybe he thought it was worth documenting for historic reasons.
