Southeastern Limited Edition Vinyl Out Tomorrow

Post by Kudzu Guillotine »

I'm not on Twitter but I understand Jason tweeted that a limited edition (500) of Southeastern will be available at select independent record stores tomorrow.

They've already been selling some as of last Friday at some stores. I checked two here and didn't find one.

Is there going to be a generally available pressing at some point?

Edit: Called the local store, they didn't get any of the limited in. General release coming next week.

I live in the southeast. Checked a few stores in Greenville SC and a few stores in Asheville NC and no luck. Thought for sure I would be able to find southeastern in the southeast, but no luck. Ill grab one next week though.

They have a few at Criminal Records here in Atlanta, but I passed on it. I've already ordered the standard vinyl from Jason's site & the mp3's from iTunes (I'm a sucker for bonus tracks) and figured I didn't really need to buy this three times.

I picked up a couple today at Twist & Shout in Denver. One for me and one for a friend that I'm sure will be psyched to have one. They have a few more.

While this is a nice little novelty to have and all. No liner notes, no artwork is a bummer.

I'm a sucker for limited releases so I'm happy. Would have been nice if it included some sort of insert.

I'm still not sold on this record so I'm probably going to just stick with this one copy. Bought it mostly because I'll pretty much buy anything he does anyway just to support him. If it grows on me I'll probably pick up the regular version and file this one away.

My awesome record store Looney Tunes on Long Island saved me a copy.

Walked in yesterday to pick it up and was handed # 500 of 500. Very happy with that.

Hey, question for you jh13. Does the "Elephant (Demo)" bonus track sound EXACTLY like the album track to you? Haven't done the a/b test yet, but in the car it sure sounded like the exact same track. Wonder if iTunes messed something up or is it me?

They sound identical to me. I even loaded them up into final cut pro and the audio waveforms appear to be a perfect match. Pretty disappointing, especially after how much I enjoyed the Traveling Alone demo. Maybe I'll shoot an email off to iTunes and see what they say.

Thanks for checking the waveforms, you saved me a step today! I'll email iTunes too so they know something's up. Also tweeted at Jason last night.

Well. Here is what I got from iTunes. But, the waveforms they've attached sure look the same to me. Oh well, I tried.

Graham here again from iTunes Store Customer Support.

It appears that the two tracks are actually different and might not be easy for human ears to differentiate.

Our engineers have provided us with the two waves of the songs to prove this. They are attach to this reply Jack.

If you have any further questions or concerns regarding this issue, please let me know and I would be more than happy to address them for you.
