After I found no hotels online, I called the holiday inn express and booked what the person on the phone said was their last available room.

I know historically they've done this even in the winter but selfishly I was hoping they'd stick with the late-March date as it was in 2023. It is better weather for long-distance travelling, and I've already got plans for mid-February 2024. I sure hope to make it back to Athens another time.

Fingers crossed it will go back to the late March date after this year. They have the Australia run booked for late March in '24 and my assumption is that is why Athens moved back to February.

I am in as long as I get tickets in a few minutes. My buddy JR, who came with me last year as homecoming virgin, is planning to return.

I liked the spring date last year, but I know I’ll appreciate the Monday off (President’s Day) associated with the February dates.

I think that I’m glad of no presale this year…the presale used to stress me out, but then I could get tickets later.

I also preferred the March/April dates, mainly because Feb. 15 is my wife's birfday and Feb. 14 is Feb. 14. Glad she's a good sport.

The experience buying the Saturday tix is harrowing every year.

Nonetheless, all four nights are secured.

I’m officially in now.

Purchasing Saturday was a bear. I tried Saturday first and after multiple failed attempts, I bought the other three nights. Then I still couldn’t get Saturday, but eventually I was able to get them.

Purchasing Saturday involves enough emotion that I feel the experience is due for a DBT composition. I feel like I just raced in Daddy’s Cup!

Normally I have a similar experience when the presale, and I thought I wouldn’t this year since all tickets were released at once.

Oh well, 25 minutes of torture for a long weekend of fun with great friends ain’t too bad of a deal!

In on Thursday-Saturday. Also had serious issues buying Saturday tix, but I stepped away from the laptop for 20 minutes of stress and when I tried again it was working fine. Hate that I’ll likely miss the Wednesday night event, but maybe I’ll luck out and break free of work early that week.

Yeah, I also prefer the later dates, but I rescheduled a vacation to be able to make the actual dates (somebody should write a song in praise of my wife, who, in addition to rescheduling the trip including almost all the detail work would have attended the later dates but can't do the actual ones). Then I didn't realize tickets were on sale and had a serious moment of panic when I found out. But it turned out easy peasy, presumably because I missed the initial rush and all tix were made available from the get go. In for all 4 nites. Fingers crossed for reasonable travel conditions.
