I feel like I've been hearing rumors about this book since Bush was president, maybe even Bush I, lol. So it's nice to know that it's finally real. Based on the review, both the reviewer and the author "get it," so I'm looking forward to reading the book. If you're ahead of the rest of us, let us know what you think please.

Bonus points: The reviewer used "complement" correctly. Not a big thing, but still, nice, and unfortunately rare.

I don't particularly want to use amazon and the book isn't going to be published in the UK. So...does anyone have a favourite local independent bookstore I can order this from?

Otherwise I guess I'll just order from the publisher.

Here are the 2 links. International shipping is ok.

https://bookshop.org/shop/afterwordsbooks

https://bookshop.org/shop/booksoncallnyc

Don't ask me for all the details, but essentially, bookshop.org is a central ordering/distribution system for independent bookstores. The stores have their separate portals but the orders go to the same central place for fulfillment.

Gee...I seem to remember SOMEBODY ELSE writing a book or two about following DBT around America a few years ago.
I am pretty sure that some of you purchased a copy. Do I need to get a cease and desist order?

I'm about 25 pages in, and have to say that this book is extremely well written. It's also incredibly up to date with discussions of The New OK and some of the live homecoming sets that were released during quarantine. Really impressive work by Duesner.

Seems like those links only accept US and UK shipping. Had to go with Amazon.

I ordered mine direct from the publisher, the University of Texas Press. I believe they ship overseas.

Yes Heathens were mentioned! :)

Also there's an extensive index and bibliography in the back. I'm telling you, it's pretty impressive.

Yes. Seem to ship overseas, and for less than what Amazon charge.

No. I ordered from bookshop.org and now their website is saying "Backorder (temporarily out of stock)". I don't recall seeing that designation on their site when I placed my order, otherwise I would have waited or ordered directly from the publisher.

I haven't received mine either but just because it's backordered now doesn't mean that original orders weren't filled. That's what I hope, anyway. As I recall standard shipping was estimated at 5 to 7 days, so I'm still hoping to see mine in the next couple of days.

Glad to hear it. OTOH, both my orders seem to now be in backorder purgatory. How a pre-order can become a backorder is a mystery to me.

Same. I preordered from my local indie and haven't heard a peep. When I check the website it says "Warehouse Out of Stock."

I respectfully disagree. I think grumbling and whining is totally appropriate.

Within the order documentation, I was urged to contact the seller with any problems, so I did. Needless to say, I have not heard anything back.
