RSD Black Friday Plan 9 Records July 13, 2006 3xLP

This is pretty exciting, assuming the recording and sound quality were good. We don't have a live album document from the Isbell era (we do have the 40 Watt DVD). This will scratch that itch. Way more excited for this than for the ACL release.

3800 is a pretty decent number, too, so I don't think we'll probably have to rush out on Black Friday to pick this up for a reasonable price.

Is there any way for a non-vinyl person such as myself to hear this? Is it even possible to create mp3 tracks or a stream from vinyl?

You can make mp3s from vinyl but often the purchase of vinyl includes a digital download of the tracks. Maybe somebody will share 8-)

Could be wrong, but from what I’ve seen on Facebook there is no included download

Mine is numbered 2192.

Paid $48+ tax. Disappointed by the minimal packaging, especially at that price level, but I’m also happy to support the band and the record store.

Stoked to get this on the table!

Was that the official price, or marked up?

Seems kind of expensive.

Living in AK with no record store, I had to go the ebay route. I piad $55+$5 s/h. And, for those of you wondering -- it was a record shop, not scalper.

I saw some as high as $100+.

Bought mine from a record store today, it was $51 on the sticker, so that seems like that’s roughly the going price. I was a little surprised, but as stated above, happy to support the band and the store, really excited to get to listen to this one.

I don't feel so bad about paying $60, now. Anyone know the differentiation between colors? I see red, blue, yellow and orange covers.

None. It’s just a way to play into the “bootleg” motif.

Right on. I figured no difference since the setlist/tracklist was identical.

I've got a bootleg DVD of this show somewhere, it was a great show in an era full of them.

Any comments on the sound quality of RSD release vs the multitrack recording that was previously in circulation via BitTorrent?

I went to 3 different stores on RSD and could not find this. I was Xmas shopping for records for my son and saw it. $55.99. I needed to get the cash figured out. Went back the next day and it was gone. Just missed it.

I have seen references to several stores that were offering the album via phone order/shipment. I got it from Loony Tunes in W. Babylon NY (thanx headhunter). I'll see if I can track down any of the others I saw, but you can probably also do a web search. Good luck!

These may be out of date but you can also try roughtrade.com and facebook.com/metamusic.

Did this set come with a digital download?

I hope they offer it that way shortly...

I have some vinyl, but just not that into flipping a record over every 3 songs...

Thanks everyone for the heads up. I did what Bubba said and Google searched it. There are a few places that still have it. Some in the $40 range too.

Also the opening pairing of Tales Facing Up and One of These Days is about as DBT/perfect as it gets.
