Yeah he killed it. And some guy named Bernfeld got name checked
I did not miss that :)

Yeah. That was just fantastic start to finish.

Glad to see he's doing more, Cooley has another and we get a show from Jay too.

Got "She's a Little Randy" and a little namecheck. What a show.

I give the experience a 9/10. Deducting a point because it made me crave a rock show in the worst sort of way.

Love the song and had never seen it live before. I got a few firsts tonight.

Interesting.

I thought the acoustic version of "Ramon Casiano" was really great, and made me think of the song in a whole new way.

Conversely, I hated this rendition of "WWW", and felt it completely lost its soul

Did anyone record the first show? For some crazy reason I’m still able to stream it from the beginning. Broke out a Maxell UR to record it. Too many rare tracks to miss.

Great fun last night!

The stream was much better last night. No skips or buffers in the first hour, and just a few in the second hour. Big improvement over last week.

I believe P Hood is a very underrated guitar player. Finger picking was great last night - esp Back of a Bible.

I loved all the deep cuts and shout outs, Bernstein even got one!

Already looking forward to the next one.

I was so caught up in the moment that I guess I just took it as obvious that the 2+ hours of stories and songs was absolutely stellar, truly a joy from start to finish so the adjectives never quite made it to my post. But as my wife sometimes tells me, I need to use my words. And yes, I know, more often I use too many of them.

An observation, not a criticism or complaint: I was slightly surprised that the majority of requests were DBT songs. To the extent I thought about it at all I assumed that the bulk of requests would be for solo stuff because there are many fewer opportunities to hear most of those songs. But to paraphrase Spencer Tracy, the solo songs he did play were cherce.

As was noted I think on FB it was odd that Patterson seemed to have no problem with the lyrics to all the rarities but his biggest stumble was on "Putting People on the Moon" which is at least in semi-regular rotation in the live rock show. Just for the record he also had to restart a verse of "Perilous Night" but it was no biggie.

I agree w/ Clams that Patterson's guitar playing is better than he usually gets credit for.

And the "loaded daddy's cup in the closet" line deserves a second mention :) :)

We don't know that. Patterson said he received over 150 requests and even allowing for duplication* that's way more songs than he can play in 2 hours. He said he "might" open up the request line for the next request show which I took to mean that there are enough unplayed requests for another full show.

*For the mathematically inclined, PH said that "Mercy Buckets" was most requested and he named 4 separate requesters. If that was all of them so that 4 was the most requests for any song, there were a lot of songs requested. PH should probably hire Tyler to spreadsheet this and slice and dice it 100 different ways.

Lousy, no good lurker here who's looking to change that status. Thought last night's stream was incredible. Was happy to get my request played as the opener (and get name-checked by Patterson to boot). Wasn't expecting things to keep getting better and better from there. Appreciate that you all came up with such great ideas. After the Scene Dies couldn't have been more appropriate or better played. Nothing but highlights and great stories last night!

What can be said that hasn’t already? Last nights show was simply a pleasure to take in. Kudos to Patterson for delivering an inspired, passionate, and fun performance.

I do realize these are live performances being done on personal properties and there are most definitely some limitations on what can be done but I do wish at $18.95 a pop, we could get a better quality stream. I’m not sure if that means moving to a different streaming platform, having a higher quality camera, or something else. It’s just that these are too good to enjoy on a low quality, shoddy stream! :)

I'm rewatching tonight while it's still up. It's blowing me away all over again. Every bit as good the second time around. Hood gave us one hell of a show.

Finally got around to watching. Delightful and comforting. Loved hearing all the deep cuts and 3DDer shout outs. As well as admiring all the nice art in Patterson’s attic. Looking forward to the DBT birthday show - that should be super interesting.
