NB: You can get $2 off the cost of tonight's Jay Gonzalez livestream by using the code JaysNight29. I assume that applies only to newly purchased tickets.

Jay taking on the challenge of his "bittersuite". This should be pretty awesome.

Oh, btw, that drawing stuff was pretty cool.

I was thinking we'd get an hour or so with lots of covers and maybe a few originals sprinkled in.

We got old originals. We got new originals. We got a wide range of fantastic covers. We got two hours. He played more instruments than DBT usually even has on stage at a Rock Show. (Anybody got an instrument count?)

I'd hoped for all of Bitter Suite never expecting we'd get all of it. But we got all of it. Then he went into Tempted by Squeeze. At some point during Tempted, I noticed that I was smiling. Just sitting in a room alone watching a computer and smiling.

It was cool to see Jay's personality. I'm used to seeing him on the side of the stage hiding from the spotlights shredding a guitar solo. It was nice to see just Jay.

And lots of respect to Jay before the show turning down Badfinger's Day After Day when he was ready to start, then changing his mind and turning it back up because he wanted to hear the rest of the song---because some songs you don't just turn off before they're done.

If he does another, I'm definitely in.

Jay's show was basically punk rock meets yacht rock meets jazz and latin standards meets experimental art.

What's not to love?

I've seen Cooley's two and this one and all three were different and wonderful in their own, individual ways. I would be happy to tune into many more from these two.

Jay played for a really long time, which given that the world is currently enjoying an unprecedented economic downturn and record levels of unemployment, was really appreciated.

In these harsh circumstances it never hurts to over-deliver and over-deliver he certainly did.
His facial expression is terrifying. He's basically the equine Chucky.

Last night Brian Fallon and Patterson Hood chatted and played some music. It's on youtube. Hopefully, this link works. If not, you can easily find it thru google.

No idea, and if it is I missed it, but I do note that the performance date is listed as June 6, 2030. :o Also, 20 ticket limit? I'm not concerned about it, but it just seems weird.
