I was told that the stage had been moved forward a few feet over time- back in the day the band/artist was underneath that overhang. It’s just a classic old school Texas dance hall

Gruene Hall was built in 1878. Most of what you are seeing in the photo is original, even the old advertising signs. Very, very little has changed in that place over time. It is a pretty special spot to catch a show.

Yep. Place wasn’t intended to be a performance hall. Stage was functional enough for a band to play live music so that the people could dance. That was the function
