Getting excited about this weekend, wife and I are going to the Saturday show. I know we have some Asheville locals on here, what are some good restaurant recommendations for the area?

A friend had also recommended Tupelo Honey, so we'll probably try it out. Thanks Jon!

I'm not local but I recommend Burial for beer and Sunny Point Cafe for food.

Sounds like a big night out for Mr and Mrs Lipps!

Good luck to the babysitter who has to watch your boy - I can picture him torturing a babysitter the way Calvin from Calvin & Hobbes used to do (and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible!)

Enjoy the show!

Fingers crossed that this blizzard lets me out of Denver in time to make these shows. It was 81 degrees yesterday. Absurd.

We always make a Mamacita's burrito pilgrimage. It's what my wife misses most from when she lived there. 67 Biltmore catered our wedding. I don't eat meat but 12 Bones gets the rave BBQ reviews.
All it takes is one wicked heart, a pile of money, and a chain of folks just doing their jobs

I second Burial! It's my favorite NC beer.

I also recommend Fonta Flora beer. The brewery is in Morganton. I tried one of their beers during Homecoming and it was very good. Not sure how easy it is to buy it in Asheville.

If y'all run into RedCelt in Asheville, it's his birthday weekend and it's the first time he and his wife will witness the miracle of Dimmer Twins. (He's on here, but not much.) They're both better friends than I deserve and I'm pretty sure he would not be offended by a birthday beer thrown his way if opportunity arises.

Local here. Burial, Catawba, and Ben's bike shop are three of my favorite places for a brew. Tupelo honey is indeed good but usually slammed. Jack of the Wood is a decent alternative for food if Tupelo Honey is full, and is right around the corner. So you guys at the show.

It's still funny, too! I sure wish I hadn't been napping earlier. I'll be interested in seeing the set list and seeing how much I missed.

Stream sounded awesome, thanks a ton!

Can’t decide if my favorite part was Nine Bullets are being able to tell how audibly sauced Cooley was by the end.
Turn it up to 10 and rip off the knob

It did sound great! And the stream only dropped once for me (though I only caught the last half-dozen or so songs) and then only very briefly. The mixlr folks have their shit together.

They came on at 9:15, played until 11:53, with about a 20 minute intermission between sets.

So in honor of their dearly departed bottle of tequila, I nabbed my flask from the past, which I never did empty, and took a ceremonial first pull off of it. It's not quite as good as running twenty red lights in his honor, but we do what we can.

And now my tummy is feeling just the least bit odd. And I swear I just took one drink. If they find me dead in the morning, I think we'll all know who to blame.

I might have a new sig line: "That shithole isn't cool enough to have a gay bar called The Brown Bag." Or maybe "This song is about killing everyone you love. Don't do it!" A positive cornucopia of aphoristic riches!

Did my ears deceive me or was last night's "Love Like This" immense, maybe even definitive?

Terrific job on the stream, Gordon. Thanks.

I had almost as much fun listening to the show last night over the stream as I've had at an actual honest to god right in front of me performance!
