One of my favorite Cooley songs has always been Checkout Time in Vegas. I couldn't believe that he sat right down and played it first. The rest of the show was awesome but I was content after the first song. My wife goes with me to the solo shows since she is more of a casual fan and can't stand the volume and hours of standing associated with a full show. That said, he played both of her favorites that day too, Cottonseed and Birthday Boy.

My only complaint about Cooley's solo sets is that they are too short. Don't get me wrong, this is not a knock on Cooley in any way. I mean he was playing 3 sets that day. It's just that I could sit and listen for hours and hours and never get enough. I love the rock shows, but something about just Cooley and a guitar is special.
Maybe everyday is Saturday morning...
