Re: Patterson Hood on Aretha Franklin
Patterson does as good a job as anyone can trying to explain the un-explainable about how we feel about Aretha Franklin's passing.
"It’s the nature of this particular art form that the songs we love become such personal parts of the fabric of our lives that there’s no separating our own lives from music made by someone we’ve never personally met. We weep and feel deep loss on such an intimate level for someone who would never recognize us on the street."

And you'll be right where they fall the rest of your life
