Bryan has decided to hunt and not help pay for Cooley's kids' Christmas presents. Since I'm working that day, I doubt I'll make the trip solo, but I might always get a wild hair...

The Foundry--11/29/2017

English Oceans
Ghost to most
Filthy and fried
Cartoon gold
Self destructive zones
Get downtown
Marry me
Perfect timing
First air of autumn
Women without whiskey
Cottonseed
72
Carl Perkins
Ramon Casiano
Birthday boy
Devil don't stay
Shit shots
Surrender under protest
Imagine

Couple of mid song woots but overall a very respectful crowd. Cooley in great voice. His new guitar sounds incredible. Surrender under protest was otherworldly

Thanks for posting the set list. My first solo Cooley show and I throughly enjoyed it. Also my first seated show of that kind, actually. Although, just like a Truckers show, it was a rare evening of men standing in line for the bathroom while I could waltz right into the ladies. Had a lot of fun watching a crowd used to belting the lyrics and jamming trying to contain their energy - lots of bobbing and foot tapping. And agreed - Surrender Under Protest was wonderful and powerful stripped down.

^^^Thoroughly enjoyable. Been kind of down this week but that knocked it right out of me. Not a fan of City Winery as far as the layout goes but the sound is excellent and they put a ton of great acts in there.
Kick out the jams motherfuckers.

Cooley did a toast to Jim Nabors. Standouts for me were Space City, Pulaski,Uncle Frank and particularly Where the Devil Don't Stay.

And I now read on Facebook what I'd've figured out if I'd been thinking--that's Devil Don't Stay. My failure to get sent to the Bay Area this week stings a lot less now.
