Beale Street Music Festival/Memphis in May May 6

Post by Beaverdam »

Rumors were floating but DBT just announced.

I'm thinking I'll make the show. I believe there's a show in Birmingham around the same time I'd like to attend, but Beale Street is always fun with family. I may be in tow with potential hethan converts!

I've been to this and it is a stone cold blast.

If you go I'll let you in on a festival secret in advance. It will rain.
By the time you drop them I'll be gone
And you'll be right where they fall the rest of your life

If y'all make it to Birmingham, I owe you a beer. Between a lot of travel miles for both work and backpacking this spring, I'm likely out for Memphis.

I made a road trip with my oldest son to this festival several years ago. This happened to be the year of the big floods around the Nashville area so it turned out to be an eventful weekend. We saw DBT perform in the afternoon and then caught several good acts before a tornado warning interrupted the festival just before Alice in Chains was supposed to hit the stage. On the road back to NC we were stranded at a standstill on I-40 for about 14 hours. He was 15 at the time and it actually turned out to be quite an adventure and bonding trip for us. Memphis is always a fun destination, but be prepared for the mud which is often an issue.

Next weekend. I'm excited!

The weather looks unseasonably cool for Memphis.

I hope to see some of y'all there. I don't know if I'll remember what to do on the rail without Uncle Ricky and CG!

Last night was fun. Snoop was hilarious. I'm ready for a rock show. I'm hoping to see dead soldiers, deer tick, and Dbt!

Y'all were missed in Birmingham last night. Please give us a report on Memphis. Guess I'll pay you back that beer next year at Homecoming.

Good show. We got "The KKK Took My Baby Away" which was a first for me. I know the set ended with Hell No. A lot of American Band was played. I was half hoping for GG Allin since we we in Memphis! Lots of folks were there, but I didn't see any familiar heathans!

I should have kept a set list for the heathen brotheren, but I failed. I've never kept a set list. DBT played a lot of American Band, I think.

It's ok, but we will need you to submit to remedial set list training. Uncle Rickey will be your instructor

Yep. Double secret probation for sure.
