The first two albums are amazing. I thought they were going to be one of my favorite bands for years to come. I saw them play a really good show at the Fillmore in July of 2005 and then do a great job opening for Dylan In the fall of 2006. The last three records, the one's that made them stars in America are unlistenable.

Aw come on ya'll, it was hot, cut em some slack.
Makes me think of Patterson being sick/dehydrated a couple years ago, collapsing onstage, and STILL finishing the show. Not to mention I imagine the arena KoL were playing wasn't half as hot as the clubs DBT have been playing for the past 15 years.
Reminds me of the AC/DC cover story in Rolling Stone a couple years back; (paraphrasing from memory here) Brian Johnson was saying that if he would suggest cancelling a show, no matter what the reason was, someone sick, roads impassable due to weather, Angus & Malcolm would have none of it and say "the kids got tickets". If he mentioned postponing the show, they'd say "the kids ain't got tickets for tomorrow night, they got tickets for tonight".

Too fucked up to perform? Any of the pussies in your band ever heard of Keith Moon? Grow a pair.

I like how he says he can’t sing and a roar comes up from the crowd. Even their fans hate the lead singer.

One time Jason Isbell said I don’t know why Twitter wants me to follow Nathan Followill. I wouldn’t follow him to the International House of Blow Jobs.

Yeah, when i first heard this i thought i heard it wrong. Cannot believe he (whoever he is) actually said that about a bandmate. Just adds to the overall douchebaggery.

Two weekends my band played three sets in the 100 plus degree heat. We played for free to benefit the fire department. We also humped our own gear, including a sound system. So I don't want to hear from some wuss who can't finish a set because it is too hot. Especially when he is making a boat load of money for a ninety minute show.

And these folks dispararaged DBT for not having any hits? How about not having any fucking class.

From Patterson's tour diary from the Tom Petty tour that was published in the Homedrone section of Flagpole last August:

Woke up to the news that Kings of Leon had to cancel the St. Louis venue (that we played last week with Petty) due to a pigeon shitting in the bassist’s mouth. I saw Mike Campbell (from The Heartbreakers) collapse on stage in 100 degree heat, get carried off (still clutching his guitar) and come back on to FINISH THE SHOW.

That’s what you do. Kings of Leon walk off after three songs.

What a bunch of pussies.

Those guys oughta try humpin' rebar or sheets of plywood in 100 degrees (for 8 or more hours). Maybe then their pussy asses could sing their shitty songs for people stupid enough to spend hard earned money to see 'em.

Bandmate, brother AND the same bass player who cancelled after getting a mouthful of pigeon shit last year.

My take on it is this.

KOL have it better than 99% of the bands out there busting their asses. Things came too damn easy for them when they were too young. So they bitch about their gigs and all that other crap.

I played two gigs this past weekend, a total of six hour long sets. Between those sets I went through the club and thanked as many people as I could for coming out and supporting us. I don't take their presence for granted. Every one of them could have opted to go to the movies or stay home and watch a dvd instead. I played the best I could. Then, at the end of each night, I tore down the stage a lugged gear to the trailer.

I do not have any respect for some guy playing before a thousand people or more, has other people carry his gear who 1) bitches about the venue and 2) doesn't have respect enough for the people who paid for their tickets to complete the show.

That's a great video Auburn. Ben Nichols is really fucked up. You don't see him walking off the stage - you see him passing out on the stage. The KOL are such pussies.

And the more about Malcolm, the better....one of my boyhood heroes.

From the reports in the UK looks like there may be deeper problems within the band (well we can live in hope).

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-14367943

The only person I've ever seen blow out a concert was Dan Stuart of Green on Red who turned up to a gig too drunk to actually get off the bus (mind you they had played in Leeds already that night and apparently he had been drinking all the way through the 2 hour bus drive to the second gig of the night). I also saw him announce one night that they didn't want to do the gig so they had done the next best thing and turned up drunk. He wasn't joking either, he could hardly stand up.
