Fun show, more later.

I've been in the vicinity, I've been a couple of shoulders off - tonight I was front & center & I represented like a motherfucker! The band was pretty good too.

Blew off work and Heading down from Baltimore for today's show.

Looks like last night was a slammer.

Batten down the hatches, Richmond!

Ridiculously great show. Top 10 highlights:

1) as always, hanging with the 3DD crew. Very pleasantly surprised to see Slip. Somehow missed Rocky - where were you bro?
2) opening with Guns....damn. Unreal song to open with, and crowd was INTO it. PH seems to have permanently revised the possibly wordy hawk/stream verse.
3) really like the live version of Darkened Flags - there's something there live that (for me, at least) is perhaps missing from the record's version.
4) This Fucking Job - the slow/waltzy/smoky version that is rarely played. Fantastic to see these guys rework some of the catalog, to great effect.
5) Sands of Iwo Jima - again, the slower burner version that we see/hear on TSTAHE. Fanfuckingtastic, and I'd been jonesing for it.
6) Two Daughters and a Beautiful Wife - a Richmond staple that is always a crusher emotionally in this setting.
7) Adam Raised a Cain - Bruce is the last great "undiscovered" artist for me. Can't wait to eventually go deep. I know most of my Bruce "deep cuts" from DBT. Intense!
8) Tales Facing Up - another somewhat rarity, with story about Wife Beater and such. Loved it.
9) Do It Yourself & When the Pin Hits the Shell combo.....holy shit. So good.
10) Gimme Some Truth & Once They Banned Imagine combo. Really? Good gawd. Gimme Some Truth is one of Lennon's rawest vocals and fiercest songs, and the band crushed it. Patterson's delivery was intense! And followed by a slowed down OTBI that really worked well. C'mon guys.....wow.

Such a great time and an amazing show. The band was INTO IT and hit a homer. Thank you.

Alas, I will not be able to make tonight. My youngest daughter has her first middle school dance tonight, and asked me at 6am this morning (I'm on 3 hours of sleep from driving back home last night) if I would be able to see her get ready before I left for Richmond again. I told her I'd have to leave before she was ready, and her face broke my heart. "There will be another time," she said. Nope, time to be a Dad. Not sure if tix are transferable or anything, but PM me if you want my info and you know how it can be transferred. Not looking for $ for it, just hope someone can use it.

Have fun!

Oh, and the pre-show music!! Fucking White Riot and walking out to Train In Vain. Chills. These guys need to cover a Clash song. White Riot or Janie Jones....or maybe something off of Give 'em Enough Rope, like Safe European Home. GEER is probably my favorite Clash album, because it is their glorious awkward teenage years album between start and stardom.

Hey Ramonz - you're making the right call. Plus this gives you a chance to scare the Hell out of her date.

My bad left knee was acting up last night so I was sitting down and not parked in Cooleyville. Two night stands are when the band pulls those gems out like One Of These Days, Adam Raised A Cain (a first for me) and Sounds Better In The Song.

Cooley was putting on a fucking clinic during My Sweet Annette. Just wait 'til you hear the tape. (I saw a rig there.)

I know y'all don't love Kinky Hypocrite but EVERY girl I saw was dancing during that song.

I particularly liked Girls Who Smoke, Baggage, Sinkhole, First Air of Autumn, Marry Me, Women Without Whisky, and Where The Devil Won't Stay.

After this fucking week I really needed a rawk show and my moment of catharsis came during that rousing version of Buttholeville. It kicked ass and is a lot cheaper than therapy. :D

Great show last night, I can't touch Ramonz's review but I'll just add it was a great show with a healthy mix of rarities and semi-played tunes. Always great to see everyone too!

I may stay off the rail & hang in the back tonight...been battling a migraine since I woke up.

P.S. Good call with your daughter Ramonz!

Great show tonight, only the 2nd time I've heard The Southern Thing, which was a highlight.

Need to go to more shows in Richmond, never seen so many good looking women at a DBT show

PPOTM and Why Henry Drinks were incredible but for the love of all that rocks you should have heard The Southern Thing with Cooley shredding at the end!!!

Pick your own superlative. Mind blown.

Awesome 2 show run. These along with the Orange Peel run last weekend were some of the most enjoyable shows I've seen in a long time. Too tired to post anything else right now.
