I think we all need a release, and being among rocking HeAthens should be cathartic.Clams wrote:Right on, Mike. When I woke up, I actually told my wife I'm not into going to the rock show tonight. I had been thinking it will be a tough show to slog through for both performers and audience, but I hope you guys are right. I admire your attitude for sure.

I've had an unfortunate coincidence of making plans to see DBT, only for a seminal awful moment in my life to happen soon before the show -- the most recent Rock Show being about a week after my dad died in 2014
They have been therapeutic each and every time. I will expect no less tonight

One can only hope that Patterson has some brand new anti Trump song queued up and ready to go.

Re: Philly, Nov 9 @ Union Transfer
I was fortunate to see Springsteen perform in Philadelphia the night after John Lennon was assassinated. It is considered to be one of the best shows he ever did. I thought about this because of the grieving that came out of it and the results of the election reminds me of this.
I won't be there tonight but I am flying to Fort Lauderdale from NYC on Monday to visit relatives and I will be at the show on Tuesday at the Culture Room. Tonight will be different in terms of the tenor of the aftereffects of the election. But the rise of Trump is also going to see some great music and art come out of it particularly in terms of protest.

Man. Tonight will be a fucking scorcher. I so badly would love to be at Union Transfer reaching blast-off to get some angst out while singing some songs. Sounds like it could be one of their most constructive and productive DBT shows in the history of the band.
Hope it eases your collective pain a bit.

Outstanding show, they never disappoint. I was solo against the stage in front of Cooley/Patton, met some good dudes up there before the show. Had a good chat until the Truckers came on, then I was in a zone until I laid down on my couch at home. Nothing beats THE rock show.

I've got the Post Rock Show 5:45am Wake Up Blues. Gonna be a long day but the spring is back in my step. Thank you DBT band and crew.
