DBT on CBS This Morning: Saturday

Post by potatoeater »

I saw some talk on the Facebook group today that DBT will be on for the October 1st airing but can not find a confirming article.
I'd like to say I'm sorry, I'd like to say I'm sorry, I'd like to say I'm sorry...BUT I AIN'T SORRY!

My mother texted me about it but now I've heard other people heard the announcement this morning as well.
We call him Scooby Do, but Scooby doesn’t do. Scooby, is not involved

Seems a shame for the band to travel all the way to NYC and not play a proper show. Remember that crazy last minute Brooklyn Bowl show a few years ago?? Would love a repeat...

They may not tape there, given where their schedule has them playing.

But onto the real question: what song will they be playing? I'm guessing "What It Means," but hoping it's "Surrender Under Protest."

I'd prefer either Surrender or Ramon.

Guns of Umpqua or Imagine is more suited for an early Saturday morning show I would think.

The format is usually two songs with one uninterrupted and one playing as the credits roll.

What it Means or Umpqua, and Ramon Casiano or Surrender.

I'm thrilled that they're getting national exposure, I'm just curious (and probably nobody knows) if previous national appearances (Conan, Letterman, etc.) have moved the needle at all in terms of record sales
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever

I have always been curious about that as well.

I can't remember a time when I saw the Truckers on a live broadcast play the song I felt they should have played from whatever new album they are promoting. As far as what song would appeal to the greatest number of listeners. That being said, the time they played Everybody Needs Love on Letterman. That shit was epic and historic. However, I don't know if even Dave's enthusiasm had any great affect on the masses.

I don't understand how they pick their "singles". Their choices have never made much sense to me. I always just chalk it up to they pick what song speaks to them the most or represents the record the best, as they see it. Instead of what song are the kids gonna love or what song will people wanna sing along to or dance to.
I'd like to say I'm sorry, I'd like to say I'm sorry, I'd like to say I'm sorry...BUT I AIN'T SORRY!

Shit Shots Count on Fallon was pretty great. Thought they should have played Birthday Boy (instead of This Fucking Job) on Letterman and anything but Two Daughters (with an out of tune guitar) on Conan.

Local CBS station isn't showing it here in my part of NC so I'm gonna have to catch it on the CBS News website after the fact. Dawes is on there from last week.

Holy shit I am so proud of these guys. Incredible job. I was tearing up seeing them play What it Means on that national stage - what other band would/can do that? So fiercely proud!

And Guns - my God. Look at Patterson's face at 2:04. Pissed the fuck off at the horrific irony.

Great exposure. Nice interview, nice "old pics" (unless you're Jason's PR Flak...)

Great song selections and performances.

A Home Run.

Damn, the new songs sounded great on national TV! So proud of these guys. And totally agree with Ramonz - Patterson said 1,000 things with that look during Guns.

The guys fuckin' brought it this morning. This is, in my opinion, their best appearance on national TV in their entire history.
