^^edit: first date is with Son Volt (trio)
Re: Fall Tour Dates (with Lydia Loveless!)
I'll be in Minneapolis if I'm not in the field.
I'll probably be in the field.

Re: Fall Tour Dates (with Lydia Loveless!)
They also added Belly Up in Aspen night before Red Rocks!! Fri 8/19
And unlike last year, the Belly Up gig won't get canceled 4 songs in due to massive thunder storms

Re: Fall Tour Dates (with Lydia Loveless!)
If I had a nickel for every time I've said "I'm in" for a MPLS DBT show only to change my mind at the last minute...I'd have like $0.15. But 9/24 does look doable.

Re: Fall Tour Dates (with Lydia Loveless!)
There's no last minute changing for me. I'm in if I can be. I've been chasing Lydia Loveless shows for like 2 years too. Between dates not coming to fruition or last minute cancellations on the venue's part, they've been like a white whale drifting about the Midwest.Duke Silver wrote:If I had a nickel for every time I've said "I'm in" for a MPLS DBT show only to change my mind at the last minute...I'd have like $0.15. DBT prefers to play this area during the Spring and Fall, so I'm probably resigned to travelling a long ways to see DBT during Summer/Winter from here on out. My concert-going days are pretty well falling off, I think.

Nice, yeah that show last year was a bummer. Definitely in for this one.Gaetzi wrote:They also added Belly Up in Aspen night before Red Rocks!! Fri 8/19

It's cool that they're playing Sacramento again.

Re: Fall Tour Dates (with Lydia Loveless!)
And still no Salt Lake show. C'mon now, it's not like we are some backwater burg. It's been more than six years now. The last time they played here they had over a thousand come out on a weeknight, so it's not like they don't get support around here. Don't get me wrong, I love to travel for rock shows, and I do so every year, but waking up in my own bed after a rock show with a (half-melted) smile on my face would sure be nice for a change.

Hope they add some Texas. I know they were here in April but I'm already ready for more.

Re: Fall Tour Dates (with Lydia Loveless!)
highly unlikely, money already spent on Dave Rawlings Machine tickets, plus I can sleep in my own bed after each DRM show. I missed GD shows and lived (barely), so this too shall passJonicont wrote:whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:looks like these will be the only Fillmore show(s) I have missed other than when they opened for Govt Mule

Tahoe is as certain as can be and may try for SLO

I'm in for Sacramento but out for The Fillmore. I checked the hotel in S.F. I always stay at and they want five hundred bucks a night. Even If I could afford it I wouldn't pay that. This makes me all the more happy about there being a Sacramento show, even if it is at A.O.S.

Re: Fall Tour Dates (with Lydia Loveless!)
yeah, staying in SF is so fucking expensive these days. We are going to 4 nights of Wilco at Fillmore in September (also Jenny Lewis at Masonic in late September), that is gonna eat up a huge chunk of my concert budgetsactochris wrote:I'm in for Sacramento but out for The Fillmore. I always stay at The Phoenix. They now want twice as much as I paid last April when I saw Lydia Loveless at Bottom Of The Hill. Fuck that.

Re: Fall Tour Dates (with Lydia Loveless!)
last year was the first year since 1994 that I didn't go to SF one time, and I didn't even move here until 1996! We used to go several times monthly for nearly two decades but now it's a small fortune just for a room, and add on top of that the fact that when I go to the city I like to do things, it adds up to big bucks. One reason I am very happy when bands I love play Berkeley and Oakland; it's expensive over there as well but nothing like across the bridgesactochris wrote:whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:yeah, staying in SF is so fucking expensive these days. Re: Fall Tour Dates (with Lydia Loveless!)
One of my show dreams is to see DBT at the Fillmore in San Fran....but it's just not in the cards. Too expensive and the Thurs/Friday dates don't help. I suspect there will plenty of opportunities to see the band here in the southeast however

The biggest thing wrong with the Ace of Spades is the roped off bar areas away from the stage.
Not drinking at a Rawk show is strange.

Does anyone know the presale codes? I've never seen the band play electric & am psyched!
