Birmingham setlist:

When the Sun Don't Shine
Tornadoes
Old Timer's Disease
Fourth Night of My Drinking
Ever South
Hanging On
Daddy Needs a Drink
Two Daughters and a Beautiful Wife
Righteous Path
Sands of Iwo Jima
Heathens
This Fucking Job
Sinkhole
My Sweet Annette
The Opening Act
Guns of Umpqua
What It Means

Encore:

Pollyanna
Uncle Disney
Miss Me Gone
World of Hurt
Back of a Bible

Damn good show. Had the pleasure of hanging out with TC and Lurleen, Beaverdam and Beaverdam's FIL.

Standouts for me were:

When the Sun Don't Shine--first time hearing it
Ever South
Sands of Iwo Jima--It's hard to rank the best songs Patterson Hood ever wrote, but this one is up there for me.
World of Hurt--rock and roll catharthis
Back of a Bible
Let the outside air in

It really was a great show with a mostly quiet and respectful audience. Just to add to Schlanky's set list Thayer Serrano sat in on harmonies for the first 4 songs of the encore.

Excellent show. Patterson talked a lot about he and his family being really homesick--especially his wife and kids. Sounded wistful about being back in Athens for a few days this week. When introducing WIM, he said, "me and my band are getting ready to take a dump on this election." First half was Patterson solo and then the Downtown Rumblers joined him. And in what may be a first, the encore began with "You're So Vain." Had kind of a laid back, loping beat with nice harmonies. And in about 18 hours I get to do it again!

"You're So vain" has to rank up there on the "unexpected cover" list with Cooley's take on "Little Willie Won't Go Home" from Nashville a few years back.

Sounds like it was an amazing night! So I am hearing mixed reports of whether or not a taper was in attendance. Can anyone provide a definitive answer. The past few Hood solos and the Dimmer Twins have not surfaced yet and it is driving me crazy not knowing. I don't know if it as simple as there were no tapers at these shows, the tapers just haven't posted them yet or if Patterson has asked recordings be withheld for a time.

I crave these live recordings because I just can't make it to shows like I used to. I have a five month old baby girl and work 50 hours a week. Not looking for sympathy here  , just trying to say I am not a leech. I plan to attend the Atlanta show in November. It will be my first show since they were in Chattanooga, TN last fall.

:D Thank you very, very much guys. The work you two do and have been doing for many years for the Truckers' fan community is most appreciated. Being a Truckers fan just wouldn't be the same without the 9B/3DD community and the countless recordings of their rock shows.

Just a fucking great show. Crowd was intently silent except when appropriate. Don't have a setlist, sorry, but a few highlights: A sustained standing ovation for What It Means; Patterson playing Sinkhole after dedicating it to "that guy who requested it 20 fucking times last night"; repeat cover of "You're So Vain"; and best of all, a Patterson led raucous sing along to 9 Bullets!!! Back to back Hood shows make me happy.

This would be lot better without Sinkhole Guy, Inexplicably Screaming Woman, YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! After Every Song Guy, and Dude Who Can Warble A Few Words Of Each Song Off-Key. I'm about over doing this.

Just listened to You're So Vain first. Very nice clear audio, definitely some chatter in the background but I have heard much much worse.

Yea I can imagine it is much more frustrating from your point of view. You spend the money on the equipment, set it up, deal with the assholes, take the time to document and archive. It is a lot of effort and time to end up with a recording polluted with the mating calls of inconsiderate fools.

From the banter at the end of Pay No Attention To Alice from the 08/11/16 show:
Patterson Hood wrote:If it's last call and you're at the bar or you're taking a piss and the guy in there before you dropped an eight ball, your phone will ring. That's Billy Ringo.
I think Patterson got his words mixed up a bit on this joke so I typed it as I believe he meant it.
