I've been listening to a lot of shows from 2004-05 lately. Cottonseed was just killer live in that era. I've heard it at solo shows but I'd love to get a DBT version.thebluestepside wrote: Cottonseed

I'm STILL pissed I missed Lydia Loveless/Patterson's rant about Columbus,Ohio/"White Knuckle W.V" AND "Troglodyte" at last year's homecoming.
But, as Mr. Hood so succintly pointed out to me the next day when we arrived in town,"You snooze, you lose." Such is life.

I listened to Pulaski last night for the first time in forever, such a beautiful, haunting song, I wish they would play that more often.
Just think, this band could play a killer set full of material that they never play.

In Tampa on Wednesday, they played "Do it Yourself" AND "The Southern Thing." I was stunned.
Re: Songs you wanna see brought back
Considering a new leg of the tour kicks off in my town in six days, of course this is where my mind is. Since "Love Like This" and "One of These Days" were revived on the last leg, they're not on this list.
Carl Perkins' Cadillac
Company I Keep
Anything from the Buford Pusser trilogy
Panties in Your Purse
Birmingham
The Southern Thing
Life in the Factory
World of Hurt
Used to Be a Cop
...and
Natural Light. Doesn't seem to be a fan favorite, but I fucking love that song.

Re: Songs you wanna see brought back
There are some songs that I feel like we won't ever see performed live again for whatever reason. Birmingham and Life In The Factory are two of those. Carl Perkins Caddy is a weird one because I think I saw that one every show I went to for a long time and then it was just like shutting off a faucet. I haven't seen it in forever.ndavis86 wrote:Considering a new leg of the tour kicks off in my town in six days, of course this is where my mind is. I like Natural Light too. But I don't think he's played it since they were touring behind English Oceans.
Have they not been playing g World of Hurt? I think I've seen that one at every show I've been to. That's probably an exaggeration but only a slight one.

We though there's never play One of These Days either but it came back.
I'd really like Patterson to explain why caertain songs don't get played. Is t Greenville to Baton Rouge the one they haven't played forever?
My two would be Goodbye and Plastic Flowers

Re: Songs you wanna see brought back
Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have put it on there. Might just be that I've been missing it, for whatever reason. They didn't play it in Aspen or at Red Rocks, but I did catch it at the Fillmore in October. I was just perusing some recent setlists. Didn't play it in Philly, Atlanta, Richmond (two nights), or Asheville (two nights). So seems like it's at least become a bit more sporadic.Cole Younger wrote:

Yeah they haven't played Greenville to Baton Rouge in a really long time. It's odd to me to hear so many people talk about chasing One Of These Days. I've seen it a bunch of times.Zip City wrote:We though there's never play One of These Days either but it came back.

I'd like to know why some songs never get played as well. Patterson seems to do better about rotating stuff. Cooley isn't you g to surprise you all that much in my experience.
I've seen them play Wednesday and The Great Car Dealer War. Neither of those are my favorite song of theirs but I feel pretty lucky to have caught both.

I've seen Plastic Flowers twice in the eight times I've seen them. One show they actually opened with it

They used to play Daddy's Cup all the time around TDS album was released. I saw it a bunch and I remember Cooley forgetting the words at least a few times.
