9:30 Club Shows - DC - March 4-5, 2016

Post by allisonsdc »

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the DC shows at the 9:30 Club on March 4-5!

I'll be hosting a pre-game party at my house on Saturday, March 5 from 1-4pm. All 3DDers are welcome to attend. If you'd like to come, send me a PM and I'll give you the details.
I keep it all together for the sake of the kids.

In for the Saturday show and hoping to make it to Allison's shindig. Will be my first rock show in over a year* so I'm really looking forward to it.

* Opening for the Ala. Shakes last summer was not a legit rock show

Wow. Since I started seeing the band I've never gone longer than 6 months...and that felt like an eternity. I don't know what I'm going to do if they ever stop touring.

I'd have to look up when my last show was. I think it was before EO came out
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever

I think after my first show I went 8 months. Since 2005 I definitely haven't gone 6 months without a show.

It was just that one time. Usually it's 3 months or so and many times we can see multiple shows in a very short period. We're lucky where we're located as we're within pretty easy driving distance of shows in VA/NC/SC and they play that area pretty often.

Hopefully just before HSB (although the missus may not approve)

Weather Channel currently calling for AM snow showers in DC Friday morning. That makes me a little nervous....the plan is to drive into DC after the Salisbury show Thursday night (likely arriving in DC about 3am Friday).

Yeah, I saw this too. Looks like snow overnight (1-3') into the next morning. Hoping that all goes well and the Bay Bridge has no issues Friday morning.
When the lights came up we all went home but never quite the same.

We will fix the missus up with some streaming tv and a nice bottle of Napa wine instead.

It breaks my heart but I will be missing these shows to help move my daughter to Pittsburgh (which also breaks my heart).

Daughters. The "always go to the show" exception. I missed homecoming in '09. Had to move my daughter into the dorm

Which begs the question, why aren't those daughters following the rule?

Totally psyched for tomorrow. Taking my good friend for his first DBT show. I saw the last go around at the 9:30 and was shocked at the length of the show, clocking in around 3+ hours. I've seen DBT 6 times and they always play 2 hours plus or minus at those shows. Do they tend to always play longer at the 9:30? Just wondering if that long show was a fluke or is that common at the club.

Can't wait! Will be at both shows. Have not seen them since the Merriweather show with Alabama Shakes.

In town. Can't believe it's been almost 2 years since they've played one of their favorite clubs. Should be a good run

What we need is at least a 2 night Richmond run at Halloween. Make it happen, Doc.
