What's the status of DBT in Columbia, SC for St. Pat's Day?

Post by 09Gamecock »

When this spring tour was announced, DBT in Columbia, SC for the St. Pat's festival on March 19th was included. After about a day, it was removed, and I haven't heard anything more. Does anybody have further details here? It's been forever since the played Columbia (I think it was back in the Headliner's day, maybe like 8 years ago), and the festival in Five Points each year is always a ton of fun. It will be especially lot of fun if DBT is headlining the festivities. Hopefully it's still happening!

Thats really strange, Columbia is one of those cities that they seem to avoid for some reason. I lived there for several years and they never came through.

It's really weird how the tour just ends on a Friday... you think they could get a gig SOMEWHERE convenient/on the way back to Athens on Fri.... e.g. Charlotte or Augusta or something like that.

Night 2 in Carrboro will be their 14th show in 16 nights so I imagine they'll be pretty tired by that point and will be ready for a break.

Maybe someone said "Do we really want to play outside in March?"

It's happening. Was announced over the weekend.

Lineup:
Drive-By Truckers, Shovels & Rope, Old Dominion, The Front Bottoms, Susto, The Movement, and Atlas Road Crew are the main ones. Should be fun.

DBT posted some pictures from this on Instagram, so I assume they played there.

They played Columbia St Pat's maybe 10 years ago or so. Jason and Shonna lineup, around The Dirty South. I think that was the second, maybe third time, I'd seen DBT.
Great, rowdy performance.
I don' think I am able to make it this go round, but should be a good time. Columbia's St. Pats lineups are usually pretty weak I think. This year's looks good.
