HOMECOMING 2016
Y'all,
I'm thrilled to announce the 2016 HeAthen's Homecoming shows.
They will be Thursday, February 11th - Saturday, February 13th.
They will, as always, be at The Fabulous 40 Watt Club.
A portion of the income will go to Nuçi's Space.
This year the Thursday show will again kick off with The Camp Amped Band.
This has become an annual tradition and this year looks to be one of the best yet.
Next up will be Monsoon. They are one of the best of the bumper crop of great young bands in Athens. They're going to blow the doors off of the place. (Sienna from Monsoon is a former camper at Camp Amped. Supercool.)
On Friday night we will have a set from Dave Marr and his killer band.
Many might remember Dave from The Star Room Boys, one of our favorite bands back in their day. Dave took a very long hiatus and now is back with a great new album and fantastic band. Don't Miss This!
This will be followed by a short set from Will Johnson, who is playing both Friday and Saturday nights, by himself and perhaps a guest or two (or more).
He will be spotlighting songs from his amazing new album "Swan City Vampires".
On Saturday we will have a set from Five Eight.
5-8 was one of the best bands ever to come out of Athens and in recent years have been playing some of the most incredible shows ever (with their classic original lineup) showcasing songs from their recently reissued masterpiece "Weirdo" as well as their upcoming new release that could end up being their best album yet.
Don't Miss This!
DBT is really fired up for this year's HeAthen's Homecoming.
I can't wait to see all my Athens friends. The band will have just returned from our upcoming shows in Mexico and spotlighting songs from our recent live box set "It's Great To Be Alive!" and perhaps pulling out some hidden gems and showcasing some brand new songs.
In the meantime I want to thank all our friends who came out to our shows in Chicago and Madison this past weekend, we had a blast! We continue on the road playing in Bloomington IL tonight and then on to Chattanooga on Thursday and closing out the year with two nights in Nashville at the wonderful Cannery Ballroom! We are looking forward to it and hope to see some of you there. As always, ticket and show info is available at http://www.drivebytruckers.com.
See You at The Rock Show.
