So it looks like those of us in the northeast (other than the ones who are already in athens ) wil be sweating out weather related travel issues once again. Can we now say definitively that February is a bad time for travel and maybe it's time to move homecoming into march?

This is becoming frustrating - April seems like a much safer bet!

Why didn't I think of that?

If they reschedule for carpetbagging yankees they'd have to stop calling it homecoming, no?

Scheduling homecoming to maximize fan attendance is a problem why? And let's not forget that there have been a number of years when weather related travel issues have impacted folks from such Yankee strongholds as North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Alabama and Tennessee as well as other good ole boys n girls who had to travel through those states.

As Jeff leaves for Homecoming, I just wanted to let you all know how very grateful I am for the support and love you have given to Jeff and to all of us during Bryan's illness and after his death. There was a time when I was skeptical about how "real" friendships formed online could be, but I learned years ago that I was wrong about that. My error was never more evident than in the years and months and days leading up to Bryan's passing and certainly afterwards. Jeff is leaving for Athens tomorrow [Wednesday] and is so excited. Right now, when neither of us is sure how we'll feel from moment to moment, it's hard to think of being apart from him for 5 days and I don't think I could do it for anything less important to him! Happy Homecoming! MK

Hey everybody, hope you guys are excited for the shows this weekend. I have a big favor to ask of the 3DD crew:

My wife and I are faithful Homecoming attendees (8 years and counting), but we had some family plans come up back in December that we thought would keep us away from Athens this year. Those plans worked themselves out and we are now free to head to Athens Friday night, but of course tickets are long gone. Anybody know of a pair for sale for Friday? I would be forever in your debt.

The humidity is part of it. Lots of people say the cold down Here gets down to your bones in a way that it doesn't in other places. But Athens is just always colder in the fall and winter than a lot of places nearby. Not sure why. I know we had 20 mph winds here (3 hours south of Athens) today. I can only imagine how it is there. I'll know tomorrow!

According to Facebook, the truckers are doing a warm up/sound check tonight and it is well attended. Also, it seems that everyone I know is currently in Athens, GA and there is much eating, drinking, show seeing, and general merriment going on.*

Face plus fees = $69 for each night ($138 for all 4). They are the "mobile" tickets so I can just email them to you and you use them on your smart phone.
