The Perilous Night 7".
$15.83 (before tax is added).
I think I won't be paying that for a 7".
Hopefully they'll have them at a future show...

That guy must've been sitting right near me. You might even see my bald head shine in the few few seconds of that clip.

Re: New songs thread
Has anybody received their single of "The Perilous Night" yet? They were supposed to ship about 12/15/17. I sent an email to Musictoday Store but haven't heard back yet.

Re: New songs thread
I had forgotten about pre-ordering this back in September. Just remembered it tonight for some reason. I was afraid it had been lost in the mail.
I'd like to say I'm sorry, I'd like to say I'm sorry, I'd like to say I'm sorry...BUT I AIN'T SORRY!

Re: New songs thread
Did the Perilous Night vinyl come with a digital download option? If so, was there a FLAC option or just MP3?
I just buy DBT vinyl to collect them and support the band. I prefer not to open them if I can avoid it. However, I also like to have my entire collection archived in a digital format. I know I could rip the songs from Youtube but I really prefer to have the best quality rip available such as FLAC or high bit rate MP3 direct from the source.
Just so it doesn't look like I am fishing for free downloads I have attached a photo of my unopened copy with my 3DD profile logged in, in the background. If it did come with a digital download option I will probably open it.

I try to self-enforce a rule to not listen to recordings of new songs, so that the first time I experience them is either live or on record. But goddamned if I don't want to hear a new Cooley song this evening.

I'm pretty lucky, the first time I heard it was live. Liked it immediately. After listening to the Wilmington recording I really like it. It has the potential to be another DBT/Cooley classic.Mundane Mayhem wrote: I try to self-enforce a rule to not listen to recordings of new songs, so that the first time I experience them is either live or on record. I'd break your rule. This one is headed toward being a new Cooley staple.Mundane Mayhem wrote:These are the times that try men's souls. Or at the very least their wills.Clams wrote:Yes there are Archive links to the recording in the Wilmington NC threadIowan wrote:Is there a recording of it?

When it's been too long since tranquility found you
And the ride from your baby's a hornets nest
Before you go puttin crosshairs between you and hindsight
Give in to the clinch and creepin into your fears
Don't go takin it out on anything but the highway
Let her go my friend
Let the outside air in
Get two tall boy beers not one not three
No radio head is p???????????????????????????
Oh we'd lie with the breakdown
Lie with the enemy
Slow Ride Argument
If you're as mad at the end as you were when you began
Slow Ride Argument
There's no goin home again
Slow Down Take it Easy x10

"No radio edits"? Between "Slow Ride" and "Breakdown", I keep thinking there's something more there about music.boyyourself wrote:i have no idea what he says after----- get two tall boy beers not one not three -------but i really wish i did because i think it would tie it all together. any ideas?

Re: New songs thread
I'm loving the latest recording of Heroin Again and this new song is solid. Sounds like something radio might embrace, to me at least. Their sound seems to be evolving and improving exponentially quicker with each album. They are tight, clean and just solid as fuck.

Re: New songs thread
On listening to the Brooklyn Bowl show, it's definitely "No radio edits permitted". And I think maybe we've got a little not quite right. This is slightly different--adding Smitty's edit slightly edited--and sounds right to me:John A Arkansawyer wrote:"No radio edits"? The more I think about it and listen to these two versions (and where the heck is that Macon recording?), I wonder if it's:

Finally caved and listened to the new Cooley song. Man from English Oceans through American Band to this Cooley is on a freaking streak. I don't want to say too much because I just heard it for the first time a few seconds ago and I don't want that play too much of a factor so I will just echo what TC said, anybody trying to hold out, just listen to it. You won't be sorry.
Pretty cool that Patterson has such a big part in a Cooley song.
I think I'll listen to it again.

I love hearing them sing backup for each other, but yeah, this is more than just backing vocals.Cole Younger wrote:Pretty cool that Patterson has such a big part in a Cooley song.

Alright. Uncle. It's really great. Might not have guessed that Cooley was such a Foghat fan.Cole Younger wrote:Finally caved and listened to the new Cooley song. I'm like 75% sure it's "only live with the breakdown," in reference to the live version of the Foghat song that is longer than the album version, and certainly longer than the radio edit.John A Arkansawyer wrote:On listening to the Brooklyn Bowl show, it's definitely "No radio edits permitted". If that's so then the next line is "live with the ending"
