Damn cloud anyway. I did like the news about solo shows in December.

For those of us who don't listen, were there dates and places mentioned?

"Damn cloud" means I could not listen. The December solo shows (both Hood & Cooley] were teased in the email Patterson sent out today.

I hate to think of Patterson coming all the way to Little Rock (for a show I couldn't get tickets to!) and not playing another show in the area within driving distance. And Cooley shows!

Y'all,
Hope everyone had a great summer and is getting settled into the fall time of year.
There have been some great happenings in DBT World.
We had a great time playing with our dear friends Alabama Shakes last month.
We were super bummed for the weather issues that aborted our sets in Tuscaloosa AL and Edwards CO, and hope we can make those up to folks soon.
The Shakes were beyond fantastic. They just get better every night and the new songs have really taken on a special new life in concert.

We have several more special dates coming up with Alabama Shakes:

Sept 17 Philadelphia, PA Mann Center for Performing Arts w/ Alabama Shakes BUY TICKETS
Sept 18 Columbia, MD Merriweather Post Pavilion w/ Alabama Shakes BUY TICKETS
Sept 19 New York, NY Forest Hills Stadium w/ Alabama Shakes BUY TICKETS
As well as some September headlining dates and a great run of shows in October and November with some killer openers planned:

Oct 8 Mills River NC Amphitheater at Upper Park at the Taproom at Sierra Nevada BUY TICKETS
Oct 9 Augusta, GA Jessye Norman Amphitheater w/ T. Hardy Morris BUY TICKETS
Oct 10 Orlando, FL The Plaza Live Theatre w/ T. Hardy Morris BUY TICKETS
Oct 11 St. Petersburg, FL The State Theatre w/ T. Hardy Morris BUY TICKETS
Oct 13 Pensacola, FL Vinyl Music Hall w/ T. Hardy Morris BUY TICKETS
Oct 15 Austin, TX The Scoot Inn w/ Brent Best BUY TICKETS
Oct 16 New Braunfels, TX Gruene Hall w/ Brent Best BUY TICKETS
Oct 17 New Orleans, LA Joy Theater w/ Brent Best BUY TICKETS
Oct 20 Little Rock, AR Revolution Music Room w/ Brent Best BUY TICKETS
Oct 21 Baton Rouge, LA Varsity Theatre BUY TICKETS
Oct 22 Hattiesburg, MS Brewsky's BUY TICKETS
Oct 23 Memphis, TN New Daisy Theatre BUY TICKETS
Oct 24 St Louis, MO The Pageant BUY TICKETS
Nov 13 Chicago IL Thalia Hall w/ Dexateens BUY TICKETS
Nov 14 Chicago IL Thalia Hall w/ Dexateens BUY TICKETS
Nov 15 Madison WI Majestic Theatre w/ Dexateens BUY TICKETS
Nov 17 Bloomington IL Castle Theatre w/ Dexateens BUY TICKETS
Nov 19 Chattanooga TN Track 29 w/ Dexateens BUY TICKETS
Nov 20 Nashville TN Cannery Ballrom w/ Dexateens BUY TICKETS
Nov 21 Nashville TN Cannery Ballrom w/ Dexateens BUY TICKETS
The biggest news for the fall is that our long awaited Live Album Box Set drops October 30th from ATO Records. This comes from the shows we recorded last fall at The Fillmore in San Francisco. Two versions are available... It's Great To Be Alive, a 5LP/3CD extended version and This Weekend's The Night, a 2 LP condensed version. You can pre-order both now! It just might be the all time definitive DBT release.

Order the new records here!

I was asked to contribute a piece to Oxford American's annual Music Issue, which this year spotlights Georgia. I will be playing, along with The Indigo Girls in Little Rock for the launch of the issue on December 3rd.

Thu Dec 03 Little Rock, AR South on Main - Oxford American Music Issue Launch concert

Cooley and I will both be announcing more solo dates in December shortly.

Also, I recently sat down with Chris Shiflett from the Foo Fighters for his Podcast Walking The Floor to talk about the evolution of DBT over the years and more. We had a great chat and you can now listen to it here.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible this fall.

See you at The Rock Show.

Laughed my ass off at the fake Muscle Shoals console story.

I guess I'm late to the party but I've been doing a deep dive lately into the treasure trove that is Chris Shiflett's Walking the Floor. Really enjoying all the interviews (but Haven't gotten to the P Hood episode yet).
