Ha ha ha ha! Pornstache. That's great. Thankfully, he is without the pornstache at the moment, and I'm praying it will not return anytime soon.

What they said.

Mr. B, I think I owe you a beer from, like, 5 years ago. Or maybe you owe me one, i forget.

I don't specifically recall, but I'm sure it arises from a sports bet. Given that my life record on those is about 6-259, I gotta believe that its me that owes you one. Very likely it was on the Boston-Detroit ALCS in 2013, not exactly one of my best sports memories The good news for you is that the 2 years of interest on the bet upgrades you from an Old Style to the beer of your choice at the Rawk show.

Who am I to argue with your logic? Sounds like a plan.

So life indicates that going to the Saturday night show might just be insane and, what's worse, impossible to schedule. So what do you folks think? Would I be stupid for making a cheap round-trip up and back on the bus just for the Friday night show and a day at the Art Institute?

At forty bucks for the round trip? Keep in mind I haven't seen the Art Institute in over a decade and still occasionally dream about it.

UPDATE: Okay, you convinced me. I sprung for the flight back, which puts me in town just in time to sing in choir that morning, and made plans to spend two nights at the Rock Show and two days in museums, one for the Art Institute and one for either the Field or the Museum of Science and Industry. But only one night in a hotel--I'm going to stay up all night and hit the five AM flight out.

Where are all you out-of-towners staying for the shows? We're driving up from South Bend and booking a hotel today. Never been to this venue.

Erdz, we are staying downtown on Saturday night so that we don't have to worry about driving or Metra training, so we don't have to be in a rush after the show. Thacker was eyeing down a Holiday Inn a couple of miles away. We haven't booked yet. If you see something that looks feasible, let me know and we will book there. Some people are flopping at friends houses, but Thacker, myself, and others are going to book a hotel room. If not, by cab I believe the Pink line runs right by the venue.

For pregame I like the idea of Honky Tonk BBQ pre-show.

Erdz,on second thought could we swap roomies. Could we trade Thacker and a bottle of Makers for Mrs. Erdz crashing in our room instead? Strictly platonic of course. I could at least get some sleep that way.

 Mrs. Erds is being a rock show trooper this go-around. We have a little Erds coming next May. I'm not sure how long she'll last but she's feeling good and wants to go both nights. We'll be low-key during the day but up for that pre-game plan for sure. Litte E needs some barbecue.

Many congrats Matt to you and the Mrs. That is a trooper move. Beth hit up a Madison show when she was pregnant with Zoe and still had a good time. You need to get the wife a good dinner while you guys are back in town.
Say hello to Beth on Friday night when you see her. She is bringing a portable breast pump to the almighty Rock Show. I'll see you on Saturday. First one's on me.
I can't wait to get to the point when we can bring the Kin to their first show. Of course, we'll be even older than we are now.
