Weather forecast looks good for next week - 80's and sunny. The show is called for 7:30 so we'll have plenty of time to pregame in the park (seating is reserved so no one has to wait in line - I'm talkin' to you Uncle Rickey!). I'll have the tailgate set up on the grassy parking area along Parkside Ave. I'll be there early so I should be able to set up pretty close to the main gate. If you are reading this, you are invited.

I have a pair of tickets that I am not using in case anyone is interested in a last-minute decision.
Will be at the Clams tailgate if that helps.

Excellent preview in today's Phila Inquirer:

Alabama Shakes / Drive-By Truckers
Not long ago, the Alabama Shakes were unknowns touring as openers for the Drive-By Truckers. The roles have reversed for Thursday's show at the Mann Center, but that's no slight to the Truckers, who last year released one of their finest albums, English Oceans. Instead, the bill highlights the Shakes' sudden rise. Their second album, this year's Sound & Color, broadens their palette from the bluesy Southern rock of Boys & Girls, their acclaimed 2012 debut. It's more soulful, more contained, more subtle. Brittany Howard is a powerhouse vocalist and earthy guitarist, but on Sound & Color, she tones things down and explores her falsetto range. (See her new garage-rock side project, Thunderbitch, for her wild side.) This is a great double-bill: The Truckers have long been the standard-bearers for contemporary Southern rock, and they're not ready to pass that torch. But they're willing to share it.

We'll be there with extras! I think we're carting around Cooley Girl & UR for the night. They won't let us be late!Clams wrote:Weather forecast looks good for next week - 80's and sunny. On that note, I read that the parking lot opens approx. 1 1/2 -2 hrs before doors. Is this how you remember it?

Okay so the parking lot opens around 5:30 tomorrow and that's when I hope to arrive and get things set up. There is a grassy parking area in front of the main gate - that's where I expect to be, probably in the first or second row of cars. Look for the silver Toyota Highlander. I'll have a cooler and a table, plenty of beverages, some snacks and a few pizzas. Nobody has to bring anything, but of course you're free to bring along anything else you wish to eat or drink.
The show is scheduled to start at 7:30 and, assuming we all have reserved seats, no one should have to go in early. So that gives us plenty of time. Come one come all, it's gonna be a great night.
Any questions, let me know. See ya there!

We're planning to arrive around the same time, but with the Schuylkill you never really know. See you at the rock show!Clams wrote:Okay so the parking lot opens around 5:30 tomorrow and that's when I hope to arrive and get things set up.

Okay, I'm here. Right down the hill from the main entrance. In the "blue" section, not far from the circle with the big statue. silver Toyota Highlander. Lots of pizza, beer and soft pretzels

Change! We are now in the silver section about 50 yards closer to the gate. In the first row of cars.Clams wrote:Okay, I'm here. Right down the hill from the main entrance.
