I don't know why I thought this time with the pre-order would be different. Shame on me.

Thank you for pre-ordering It's Great To Be Alive Deluxe LP/CD set.

Due to production delays, the ship date for both LPs has been pushed back a few days. All pre-orders placed at the DBT store will now be shipped on or before November 9th. We are truly very sorry for the delays but unfortunately this is a risk you run with manufacturing vinyl, especially such a large scale project as this one. Please know we are doing everything we can to get these out to you as quickly as possible. We are sending you the digital download of the album on the release day and you will see your copy first, before they make it into record stores.

Here is a link and code for a free download of the album so you can enjoy it while you wait for your merchandise to arrive.
Damn, that sounds like all vinyl will be delayed. I was planning on stopping by my local record store tomorrow after work to pick it up. I'm going to give them a call and see if they've heard of a delay with the vinyl edition.
Yep - not really a pre-order issue. More of a vinyl manufacturer issue. Pre-orders actually will have it before the stores, it appears.

Sounds like one more reason to hit the Chicago shows to me.

Confirmed by Schoolkids Records in Raleigh for what it's worth. The 2LP release has been pushed back to Nov 6 and the 5LP box is currently TBA. Fucking hell this sucks...I was looking forward to really diving into the vinyl this weekend.

Every single new release I want on vinyl ends up getting delayed. I think I'll order the CD-only version from Amazon. You get free MP3 downloads with a CD purchase so that way I'll have an acceptable place-holder version on the same day I buy it.

Damn, guess I'll buy the CD's while I'm waiting for the vinyl deluxe set and then re-gift the CD's. :D

Three CDs firmly in hand, locked & loaded in the player. Sounds beautiful.

Thank you Drive By Truckers.

And I found my ugly mug in the liner notes.......

See you at the Rock Show. I'm not throwing myself off Lookout Mountain Tonight.

Maybe I'm old fashioned but that's the first thing I don't like about digital downloads. No liner notes.

So excited to have a proper live version of WWW, but the guitar noodling in the 2nd verse (Jay? Patterson?) is really annoying.
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever

I do my best. If that's my only complaint on the whole record, it's a rousing success.

Seeing all these raves is killing me! Only at work for a few more hours. Gonna make it. Gonna make it. Then it's DBT heaven...

I'm done with Music Today.
I keep saying "fuck no I'll NEVER do another pre-sale" after getting screwed the past two times.
Of course I did. AGAIN.
My order was shipped from Butner, NC. on the 27th. I live in Chipley, Florida. 2-3 days by USPS.
Of course Music Today uses UPS Mail Innovations and my stuff was shipped to a center in Orlando eight hours south of where I live and left there yesterday.
I used to work for FedEx and I'm familiar with UPSMI and how these shipping company/USPS partnerships work. The tracking number provided to me says Monday. I'm betting on Wednesday at the earliest.
I ordered the CD's and t-shirt so I know other folks who are waiting on the vinyl are worse off than me.
Just frustrated.
I'm doing Amazon from here on out so I can at least do a download of the entire album the day it comes out and I'm not at the mercy of Music Today and the mail. I e-mailed Music Today's customer service asking if there was a download code of the entire record for folks who bought the CD's and the response was "you already got your pre-release tracks".

I knew what I was getting myself into. I'll just curse Music today until the CD's arrive from their Central Florida vacation.

The thing I don't understand about preordering anything from DBT is that they (whoever handles merchandise orders) are the only band that seems to have issues. All other music preorders show up on time or early.

How crazy is it that the announcement concerning the vinyl comes out the day before the release date, too?

The guy at my record store, Decatur CD, said these vinyl snafus happen all the time. He said it happened with Keef's latest and reminded me that Kendrick Lamar's latest is still not out on vinyl. He wasn't surprised at all. Anyway, the CD's sure do sound great. Maybe it's my imagination, but to my unsophisticated ears they sound tons better than the Soundcloud stream.

 I noticed that too---the little delay that Brad and Matt have synced in on to end a bunch of songs. Nice live touch.

Cd version sounds amazing. A home run for me. Play it loud. Fucking love this band and I would like to thank them for doing a live album right. Some definitive versions here. Wow.

Could not agree with this post more. I had to go to a mall (sigh) for the first time in about 20 years to get it but was there when it opened. Went over to a friend's house to get drunk and high for awhile and then commenced our listening party of sorts. I suppose anyone could make minor quibbles with this release (Mercy Buckets annoys me beyond belief and could have been swapped for Self Destructive Zones etc) but jeez this is a major triumph for DBT. Congrats to the band and Dave Barbe.
