Ed Fest- Edwards, CO Sat 8/15

Sweet! Edwards is a cool town just west of Vail and Beaver Creek. Don't know a thing about this festival but lots of beers and a 2 hr DBT set? Fine.. This is setting up to be a great weekend in CO.

Nice! I was planning on seeing Jason Isbell at the Lyons Folk Festival, which is unfortunately the same day, but looks like I will be changing my plans.

Edit: Tickets purchased. $28/piece through Groupon with no fees. DBT + 3 hour beer tasting. Not a bad deal at all.

I think we're in for this as we haven't bought plane tickets yet. Probably jump on that tonight and come in Friday night instead of Saturday. Should be an awesome weekend!

Glad to hear it, TC! Not sure if it's economical but look into flying into Eagle, out of DIA. It's a small airport like 15 minutes from Edwards.

About to purchase a couple of tickets to this.

Gonna head up on Friday and leave Sunday morning to make it back for the Red Rocks show.

Gonna miss MMJ at Red Rocks on 8/14, unfortunately, but this is too good to pass up.

Anyone know what the bus/transportation situation is like? It looks like it is cheaper to stay in Avon, but Edwards would obviously be more convenient.

Edit: Nevermind, we were able to get a room through Hotwire for $125 with all of the fees and whatnot. It's kind of a crapshoot as it doesn't tell you which hotel you will be staying at, only that it will be in Edwards. We lucked out and got one on Main Street right next to the venue.

I also locked in a room at the Inn at Riverwalk, $133. I think it's the only hotel in Edwards. And less than a mile from the venue in case we need to walk back.

Crud...another show that weekend I can't make.

Wanted to go see MMJ and Sufjan Stevens that weekend too, but I'll be heading out of CO for Toronto then.

Agree. I have a houseful of people in town for the MMJ show that makes this impossible. Another time.

Bummer that Jason is also plAying in lyons that night as I was going to do that then Dbt red rocks. I'm still up in the air about red rocks but I'll probably go. Wouldn't want to miss jason sitting in with the boys. At least that's what I'm manifesting.

Looking forward to seeing you guys, TC!

Assuming you'll be driving from Edwards to Red Rocks (or anywhere east from Edwards) on Sunday morning, definitely check out the Vail Farmers Market. The town of Vail is gorgeous in the summer, it's literally 10 seconds off the highway and parking is free- http://www.vailfarmersmarket.com/ Even if you don't buy anything just strolling Vail village w coffee is worth doing.

Good to know. We're actually staying in Vail Friday and Saturday nights. Decided to stay at a scenic resort at a time when it was actually affordable!

Right on, that's definitely a great call. Vail in the summer is about as pleasant as it gets. It gets chilly at night though!

Full list of music announced today:

3:00-4:15pm - Jay Roemer Band

4:30-5:45pm - The Altitones

6:00-7:30pm - DJ Logic

8:00-10:00pm - Drive-By Truckers

DJ Logic is random. The other 2 are local acts, not familiar with them.

Brutal timing, ramonz!

A bit surprised that Red Rocks is totally sold out but good for both bands. Tom, looking forward to meeting you in Edwards and best of luck getting RR tix.

Couple of random thoughts as the weekend approaches- Even though I caught the Boulder TDU show and saw 2/3 of the Homecoming shows in February, it seems like forever since I've caught a ROCK show. And man do I need it.

Also, bummed the esteemed jonicont will not be making the trek west but looking forward to seeing and meeting the 3DD crew. Finally, would love to here Sounds Better in the Song. It's been stuck in my head for over a week now

That's a rad poster. Now I'm officially stoked. I'm slowly headed towards Edwards now by way of Yosemite. I was debating going to see jason tonight in salt lake but that leaves me with a seven hour drive to Edwards so I'm skipping that to rest up for the Saturday event in Edwards. Saw Jason the other night in Reno anyways and it was phenomenal. See you at the Colorado rock show.

Looking forward to this. Two hours of DBT and 65+ breweries, and the weather looks relatively decent. See y'all there.
