archive.org A Concert from (Somebody's) House

Post by Beaverdam »

When I'm working on reports in the office, I'll often find an old DBT show and listen on archive.org

Often my favorites are the older shows that are from somebody's house, as opposed to a theater or normal concert venue.

I have to admit that the "house concerts" always make me think about DBT playing my backyard. Boy, wouldn't that be fun. My friends would love me, but my neighbors would hate me!

"Hey, Cooley, you want another cheeseburger off the grill?" "No, you can only play acoustic from in the hot tub!"

Drive-By Truckers, Live at Back Porch, Tracy's house on 3-27-04

There's some pretty funny discussion and interplay on here between the band members.

Is that the one where Cooley plays Fox On The Run? I love that one,
A single shot rifle and a one eyed dog.

I'm listening to it now..it sounds like a song called "Kiss me Baby" morphs into "Fox on the Run"!

"Kiss my Baby" is an old Adam's House Cat song. I'll have to check this one out.

You guys / girls listed my two favorites. Really must listening for the kind of folks that post here...especially the one at Cooley's house. It's like you're hangin' with the Truckers on a Sunday afternoon.
By the time you drop them I'll be gone

Oddly had never heard this one before. Highly enjoyable.
We call him Scooby Do, but Scooby doesn’t do. Scooby, is not involved

I think that show was originally a "Summer Cousins" show but Cooley showed up (or something like that).

This one wasn't from somebody's house, but track 25 on this show from the archive is a pretty entertaining version of Let There Be Rock:

Nice set list for the whole show.
Let the outside air in
