Yes, that coda is still great acoustic. Jay is getting a very dense piano sound.

Patterson is frantic; Cooley is frenetic but more controlled. Birthday boy Osvaldo about a character from a book?!?

I think this is the first time I've seen Jay play guitar tonight.

Just heard my 104 year old uncle is in bad shape.

Patterson and Cooley just got pissed at someone who cheered for date rape. Patterson is telling a fucking sad and terrible story. He got shot abunch of times and died infront of a bunch of children. What i
it means

I may be in the extreme minority (hell I might be the only one) but I'm just not super excited for these shows. Sure, if they bring these shows to the southeast I'm 100% in but the thing I love most about the RAWK Show is the actual balls to the wall, edge of a razor blade RAWK!

However I don't want to rain on anyone's parade. Thanks for the updates, sounds like an awesome time, & I can't wait to hear the recording.

Amazing show, but, at more than a few points in the evening I was seriously embarrassed to be a part of such an idiotic, obnoxious crowd.
I know we all love the band and they return our fandom with such warmth and giving that it sometimes gives those of us who've been fans for a long time/attend lots of shows/know every lyric/etc., a sense of entitlement.
Seriously, in such an intimate setting, with Patterson and Cooley basically sitting at the edge of the stage, do you really think it's a good idea to stand right in front of them like you're the only person listening? After numerous "Y'all shut the fuck up"s, Cooley also had to say, "Boys, boys, they don't want to see your asses, either," and whisked them away--for a bit.
Another good one from Cooley: After some guy front and center continued to stamp his feet and stand up and clap rhythm and make other percussive gestures (and remember, this was supposed to be a quiet, understated, intimate show), Cooley asked Patterson, "Is your last name Allman? Neither is mine. We have one drummer; we don't need another one."
The worst were the folks at the back of the room who apparently didn't realize it was a concert and only wanted to pay 30 bucks so they could come in and drink expensive beer. After many more Shut the fuck ups, someone from back there hollered , "Hey, it's a bar on a Friday night, my friend." Um, OK, so those of us actually wanting to watch and listen should just forgive you your lack of consideration, I guess.
All that aside, musically this was a monster show. It was worth the price of admission just to hear Cooley and Patterson's long stories/intros before several songs. One of the best arrangements of "Sounds Better in the Song," awesome organ. Loved hearing the "Ooh La La" cover. And the new one, "Let Go," holy fuck what a song.
Don't miss it.

It really better rain in two weeks.

"Ooh La La"? If I'm taking 20 songs to the desert island, it's probably on the list.

An acoustic show in a bar just sounds like a bad idea. So glad I saw the 2008 TDU show in a theatre

Like the dumb ass chick in SF who was yelling for 'Outfit' weeks after Jason had left the band...
And of course the 'Freebird' idiots, like that never gets old.
Some people just have to try and insert themselves into the show one way or another I guess,
Not understanding that buying a ticket doesn't give you the right to be a douchebag.

If anyone here is on the fence about going, do yourself a favor and GO!
This opportunity doesn't come around often, and you don't want to miss it....
