7/14 - Cincinnati, OH - Shake-It Records In-Store

Post by helmespc »

It was awesome to see the full band in such a quaint setting. Aside from the guy in the back shouting Zip City when Patterson asked for requests for any of his songs, it was really a great show. It was extremely nice for the band to take time out of there schedule to support our local record store, and a great chance for them to plug the Eddie Hinton single at the record store that dreamed up the project. Anyway, here's the setlist from what I recall:

Heathens
Carl Perkins Cadillac
Everybody Needs Love
Eyes Like Glue
Drag The Lake Charlie
Three Dimes Down
Lookout Mountain
Nine Bullets
Panties In Your Purse

Yes, it was A-MAZ-ING! The fact they took requests and stuck around to sign autographs and whatnot afterward was really swell, too! Just another reason to love DBT.

I didn't even think to bring anything to have autographed. In fact, all I had in my purse to write the setlist on was a copy of Flannery O'Connor's Everything that Rises Must Converge so I ended up scribbling down the setlist on that. After, I asked them to sign it for me, and Patterson said he hadn't read that yet but he was going to get around to it one of these days. It was really too perfect, because I always reference O'Connor as a literary link to understanding what kind of stories DBT offers in their songs. It was incredible. :D <--- I still have this face 2 hours later, I can't help it!

It was a crowded house, I'd say about 100 or so people packed in there. It ended up being about an hour show.

Joked around with EZB and Jay about playing Rebels on the last night of the Petty tour.... they should make that happen. ;)

Superb. Thanks so much for posting that.

Anyone know what kind of guitar Cooley's playing?
