Folks, again the dates are Thursday 2/12. Friday 2/13 and Saturday 2/14. That is for sure. The ticketing site had it wrong but it is being fixed.

Damn you guys are quick! I was able to get Friday tix but Saturday presale is already sold out. Tix on sale through 40 Watt this Friday?

With a new little baby (who will not be coming w us) and us flying from CO our game plan is to just get to GA on Thursday, securing a pleasant and no rush scenario for the Fri-Sat Rock Shows. See you all in Athens!

Once again the rock gods have looked favourably upon me - rescheduling my boy's hockey tournament from the 14th weekend to two weeks earlier - I Do Believe.....

Tix for Thurs and Friday secured, presale for Saturday sold out...Friday, I pray, will deliver via the 40Watt site. This will be our sixth homecoming, just cause we loves all y'all!

YES! Really glad to hear this!

Got our tix for all three nights. Thanks to my trusty assistant Guillaume who texted me the head's up; had to race home from the grocery store to get 'em!

No need to panic, there will be plenty of tickets on the 40 Watt website on Friday. For various reasons we've never purchased tickets through the DBT presale, we always get them through the 40 Watt website when they go onsale.

Tickets purchased, hotel booked, and flight reserved. Now just to sit back and wait (im)patiently.
When the lights came up we all went home but never quite the same.

Surely someone has a template to follow when attempting to explain to their spouse that they are leaving town for the better part of 4 days, when the kids have a half-day Friday and no school Monday, over Valentine's/President's Day weekend, for a 3-day DBT bender.

Indeed, I think there are several threads on the subject. A couple of thoughts: a combination of begging and pleading combined w/ offers she can't refuse, whether that be cooking for a week/month, a spa wkend w/ "the girls," kid duty for an extended period, etc etc. I've also found that sacrificing all typical gifts (birthday, chanukah, etc) for one gift of homecoming is not a bad trade. Plus let's not get hysterical here: You'll be home by Monday.

And when in doubt, showing your appreciation in word and deed is never out of style.

Well I don't beg, and I already cook and handle my share of kid duty... but I am confident that sacrificing typical gifts and telling my husband to "not get hysterical" should definitely do the trick. Plus, I already bought tickets and made a non-refundable hotel reservation. Surely he wouldn't want me to forfeit all that... right? Right??
I keep it all together for the sake of the kids.

I invited my wife along for my first one...she has never looked back. Not only for the band, but for friendships forged. I sometimes think she looks forward to the adventure more than me. It sure as hell simplifies xmas shopping, but does involve a carefully crafted kid care plan that relies on a fine balance of friends, family and hired help.

You can call the Marriot Courtyard and ask for the DBT rate. $89. $10 more than last year

Spoke with the manager at the Courtyard today. The $89 rate was a mistake. If you got it, you got lucky. Going forward it is $95, which is actually about $34 off of their normal daily rate.

Looking forward to our 7th Homecoming. Our first was 2009 & we haven't missed one since.

Yep. Got my regularly scheduled $129 rate dropped to $95 a few hours ago.
