Runaway train! Woo! Yes I'd be one of those asshats singing if I were there!

I missed whatever Cooley said. I was folding laundry. As much as I appreciate Gordon's stream, if he could fold laundry, he'd be even cooler. Thanks again, Gordon! When we meet I want to buy you a beer/bourbon drink!

I think you might have gone off on the wrong track there, beaverdam. Nobody thinks people who sing at the rock show are asshats. As far as i know pretty much everyone sings to pretty much every song and twice as many as that sing on the "anthems."

I sometimes wonder how old my son has to be before I can tell the box of spiders story for bedtime. I love listening to that story and loved this time when Patterson said, "he courted her with ice cream!"

Makes me think about my grandparents falling in love!

Do you think your grandparents fell in love? Serious but not challenging question. It's just that I find it hard to think about my grandparents that way. They never seemed like the types to care about things like love. I don't think their marriages were actually arranged but I'm not sure how far off of that they were. Things were just different in the old country (where they were when they got married). Add another thing to the list of many things I'll never know or understand.

I really envy the type of multi generational rootedness from which hood and cooley come and the stories that go w/ it.

I was just joking! I'm sitting at my kitchen table rocking out! I was just thinking about the discussion earlier I the week about commercial/pop country fans singing!

As much as I've sang at concerts, I've never air guitared at a concert like I just did at my kitchen table! I'm happy...thank you Gordon for connecting the flux capacitor!

My grandparents are from the tiny, rural town where I grew up. I'm not sure about Poppa, but I know Granny dated others before she met him. Maybe Patterson just played to my romanticized notions of them post-WW-II, but I can imagine Poppa courting Granny with ice cream!

I've really enjoyed this stream. Best versions of PPOM and Buttholeville I've ever heard.
