Charlotte-11/1

Post by rawkshow »

It seems I may be the only person from charlotte on here so I guess I’ll start this thread…..I know a lot of y’all are coming to the show via Athens & other points throughout so figure I’ll give some info/pointers….the fillmore is located in a complex called the NC Music Factory. It’s a little bit outside of the downtown (they call it uptown here, don’t get me started) in what used to be an industrial area, old warehouses & such….there’s a couple dance clubs, restaurants & bars all within the couple block area. There is a free parking lot right across from the fillmore so that’s nice. Right next to the fillmore is a bar called VBGB which is a bar garden which is pretty cool. Not sure what the weather’s gonna be like but it has a nice outside area & lots of varieties of beers & such for decent prices. Best place in the area to hang before a show. There’s also another bar called the small bar which is around the corner & is decently priced. Most of the restaurants are of the pricer end but they have just opened up a Mexican place that I haven’t tried so there’s that. You can get brats & stuff at the VBGB’s but at times the line for food can be really long. Also, a diner called Maddies, but it’s pretty small, tho they do serve late nite.
If yr gonna come into Charlotte earlier in the day, there’s several small batch breweries around town that are good to try. I just went to the new Olde Meck Brewery this weekend, they opened up a new place & it’s huge! German style beer, great outside & inside beer garden area. Good place to go with a group. There’s also NODA brewery that’s been getting a lot of good recognition lately, their beer Hop, Drop & Roll won a gold medal in the World Beer Cup. Great place to hang out, usually have a food truck on site for some grub & close to the neighborhood of NODA, which has a lot of restaurants, bars, shops & such & also only about a 10 min drive to the fillmore. Besides that, if anyone needs any ideas or info, feel free to hit me up…see y’all at the show, it’s been awhile since I’ve seen them, so really looking forward to it!
Just cause I don't run my mouth don't mean I got nothing to say...

I think our plan is just take a cab over to the music factory and eat/drink there. high saturday is 45 so no outdoor unless they have big heaters.

Just logged in to ask the same, hope the boys can make it to Charlotte safely. Crazy weather in the Carolinas.

Really? Here in Raleigh it's 55 and overcast. Are they calling for storms? All I saw for Charlotte today is rain.

I'm going to try and stream. I've heard the WiFi can be spotty there. I had planned on using my phone as a hot spot but my data is tapped and of course doesn't reset till tomorrow. Maybe someone can volunteer their phone for a hot spot ;)

I'm sorry to say I don't know anyone going to this show, I would be glad to pay for extra data for you, but I really don't know how it all works. PM me if there is any way I can do this or help in any way. Thanks Gordon

Interesting show last night. Started as a slow burn with some interesting choices to start the show. And then from Lookout Mountain to the end of the show it was ON!

It was nice to see so many of our friends from 3DD & the DBT FB page as well as put some faces with usernames of those we hadn't met before. Big turnout from both DBT forums/groups last night. We also missed the group pic again, I'm always in the bathroom lol.

It was our first show at The Fillmore, nice venue & acoustics. Beer was expensive & beer lines were ridiculous. Security seemed Gestapo-like at times. Not our favorite venue. Overall fun night!
