Thinking of making the trip up for this... any feedback on the venue?

The Electric Factory is an old warehouse. Not much within walking distance for pregame. Holds about 2500. Big floor. U-shaped balcony facing the stage. Pricey drinks, not much ambiance, average sound. Meh. All that said, it's still a Saturday night rock show in the big city with St Paul opening. Can't wait!

Yes I was going to mention the spacious floor. I was getting a little tired of the TLA. Ditto on the Saturday night with St Paul. Might do a little Silk City Diner for pre game.

There's a lot going for it, for sure. I'm just evaluating driving 6 1/2 hours one way for a single show ;)

Atta boy, Tyler!

I saw a smoking Phil and Friends show at the Electric Factory in 2001. Although my most vivid memory is of the insane amount of nitrous tanks outside.

In terms of pre-gaming, the best nearby venue is McFaddens, 4 blocks down on 3rd street.

The Electric Factory is my least favorite out of the Philly venues. That said, it is DBT & St. Paul and the Broken Bones. Can't wait to see you and everyone else the Tyler!

Close to the venue I don't know of much places, so I'm up for Phungi's option. A little further out are some great places. We're still trying to decide whether to make a day of it in Philly following the NYC show or head home in between and come back. Decisions, decisions.

Is this the same Electric Factory where Hendrix, Cream, and many others played?

Same name, different place... such is the duality of the Philly thing...

I hear you on trying to figure out travel plans. We normally take the train into NY and back to CT. However, does it make sense to go back to CT after the NY show, knowing we're going to Philly the next day? Like you said, decisions, decisions.

Regardless, it is going to be a blast!

I'll try to make McFaddens....not sure what time I'll be making into town though. I assume doors are at 7:30? Ticket says 8:30 but I think that has to be show time?

WHat's the parking situation like. I see what looks like a large lot about one block east of the EF?

20 bucks for nearby lots.

On street parking 2-3 blocks, be sure to read the signs.

We've decided to head home in between due to an overnight bag situation. Now to decide to take the train back to Philly or drive. I'm leaning towards train as the last one home is at 1:40 am. Good thing the Septa strike won't be until next week; I HOPE!!

Looks like the Trestle Inn has a pretty nice whiskey list as well.... on the other hand McFaddens has actual food, which I'm gonna need. Decisions...

What time are you guys planning on pregaming?

If everything somehow goes according to plan I should be hittting town about 4....

I can hold my own, but I may have to tone it down a little because I'm gonna have my kid with me.
