DBT at Iriq. Amp. Louisville Fri 9/12
Any week that ends with a DBT show is going to be a good one. Weather looks to be ideal for an outdoor show. Who's in on this one? I noticed the North Miss. All Stars have opened for DBT in the past and would like to hear from anyone that has seen them.

BTW, if I could choose a song for this show it would be "Plastic Flowers."

The end of the week can't get here soon enough! We'll be there, can't wait.

I have seen them a few times and am looking forward to the next. Always a good time.
I would not be surprised if the Dickinson boys joined DBT for a few.
Wish there was a way to be there myself.

I'd like to check out the Iriquois Amphitheater, as I've never saw a show there, but I'm not a fan of the NMAS, so I'm skipping out on this one. Instead, I'm gonna go to Lexington on the same night and watch LB3 & the Glory Fires.

NMA with a great opening set. Iroquios Amphitheater is a nice venue to watch a show. Good sight lines, good sound, plenty of room to stretch your legs. Show seemed a little short by DBT standards.

curfew? 18 songs is short, even for a "short" DBT set
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever

Not sure. Show was over around 1130. The encore break was pretty long too.

They've played quite a few shows during the English Oceans tours that have clocked in at right around 20 songs...but then some nights like Raleigh and Richmond to kick off the tour they pull out 29 and 33 songs. I guess that's why it's important to see as many shows as possible, you never know when they're going to play all night or drop a rarity like White Knuckle, WV on your head!
Turn you demons into walls of goddamned noise and sound.

Given that stature of the two acts, this might have been closer to a dual-headliner type deal.

It was the "shortest" DBT set I have seen in terms on number of songs played, but the show didn't seem that way, at least for me. I agree DBT and NMA seemed to be almost "co-headliners." I really like the venue and the weather was great for an outdoor show. Nothing surprising on the set list but it was an enjoyable night, and why complain about seeing DBT?
This has been probably been pointed out, and I apologize for hijacking this thread, but here we go. I am a big NMA fan, but I think the father of Luther and Cody, the late Jim Dickinson, led an amazing life. He produced "Pleased To Meet Me." the classic Replacements 1987 release, and did a lot of other great stuff as detailed in this interesting 2005 interview:

Jim Dickinson also played on Slobberbone's Placemat Blues which is more or less a 'Mats tribute. Brent Best tells a great story about that session.
