Can't say I'm surprised, but if this was just the first nite...
I do hope they squeeze Mercy Buckets in there somewhere on one of the nites but so many songs, so little time.
I love the back to back duo of Primer Coat & Pauline to start the encore. I think that's the first time they've done that (?) I'm gonna guess that Birthday Boy & Girls Who Smoke will take those spots tonite.

The only song I really, really want them to play (for the live album) is World of Hurt.
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever

As long as we're phoning in requests, it sure would be great to see One of These Days resurrected for the live album.

Yes.
X4. That song live blows the studio version out of the water.

Re: 3 Nights at the Fillmore San Francisco, CA 11/20,21 & 22
World of Hurt & Grand Canyon were the 2 songs I was specifically thinking of (along w/several "oldies") when I said "so many songs..." The current version of Hurt has got to be on the album.
If we're measuring by vinyl it's got to be at least a double album; it could easily be a double cd. But if they're going to match it to a "real" concert film/dvd then I'm thinking multiple packages: 1 cd/1 dvd as the basic package, a multi cd containing more songs and maybe even a 3rd w/ who knows what else they might come up w/ for the connoisseur/nut/us.

Have heard rumblings of 3 CD's (6 LP's)...
Think they are using a set list these three nights? Almost have to be using one of some sort to make sure they cover all of the ground they want to cover... The closers will be interesting. surprised Shut Up wasn't followed by Angels... Maybe People Who Died one night and Grand Canyon on another? They've kind of been the "default closers" forever...
Re: 3 Nights at the Fillmore San Francisco, CA 11/20,21 & 22
but what do you do with a live album? Have to pick one closer on there....can't have Angels followed by People Who Died followed by Grand Canyon, right?

Agreed.
Think People Who Died may be out of the running since it hasn't been played much lately... (It also appears on Alabama Ass Whuppin...)
My money is on Grand Canyon.

I think Grand Canyon is a sure thing for the closer.

They sounded great last night. There were rumors on the floor that there will be horns tonight.

What's "The Distance"?

A new song. They played it in Philly, and I believe Hampton Beach NH... not sure if it debuted prior to then.

Yes, debuted in NH, they've played it a few (couple?) of times since.
I'd bet good money on horns for at least 1 of the remaining 2 nites.
Grand Canyon's got to be the album closer.
I figure about 40 different songs over the 3 nites. @ 5 minutes each, that = 200 minutes plus stage banter etc so if they use all the songs that would be 3 cd's. My thought above was that something like that would be available but not as the official "main" release.
I"m trying really hard to love the sinners and hate the sin, but nobody ever confused me w/ a good Christian. Fuckers.

I would be shocked if this ended up being a 3-disc release. I doubt it, my bet is two.

Well that was fucking cool!
My voice is shot. My ears are ringing and I'm sitting at work trying to figure out if I can sleep sitting up and not have anyone notice.
Haven't seen the band since Fillmore/2012 and thoroughly enjoyed the show. Wish I could hit either tonight or tomorrow - they were definitely playing the long game. Last night was just a taste.
Loved Patterson's new song.

Lately, it doesn't seem too often that they've played too many new songs that actually ended up on a "regular issue" release...
Imagine it is is a leftover song from the EO sessions? Or just after?

I can recall a time when, by the time they'd released a new album, the sets were already full of new songs often destined for the next record. Maybe this one will be included on the live album as an extra added incentive to buy it. Definitely sounds like a not too distant cousin to "Let There Be Rock", at least at the beginning.
