Pawtucket RI? How the hell are they even going to find it? I'll be there waiting, guys.

The Beacon Theater in the Big City! I'm hearing Ronnie Hawkins at The Last Waltz saying "big time, Bill, big time!" :D

For those of you unfamiliar with Houndmouth, they're from Indiana and have a strong influence from The Band

Add on NYC. Plus a possible Nashville through Charlotte.

Cask and Drum in Birmingham is a music festival with a really good line up (Lucero, Houndmouth, Lee Bains, etc):

What is the deal with Girl Talk? Seems out of place.

Tabernacle in ATL might be a better option to get a full set and St. Paul & BB. Either one looks good. Wish I could do both!

Well, there are worse venues in northwest Arkansas, but I think I'll drive up to Springfield and try someplace new instead, or maybe just in addition. And that Birmingham date is very doable. And maybe Atlanta. Those dollar tickets on Megabus sure come in handy.

Cool. The Birmingham date is on a weekend when I'm in town!

Promo video for Cask & Drum says DBT will have a 90 minute set.

Here's an article from local paper about Cask & Drum for anyone interested:

In for NYC at The Beacon Theatre (although I've never sat for a DBT show before).

In for The Ryman in Nashville 2 weeks later (although I've never sat for a DBT show before).

October is shaping up VERY nicely.

What a nice surprise. The very first time I saw the Truckers, a sublime 2002 show (with Jason Isbell) at Irving Plaza, I thought to myself that I couldn't wait to see them at a nice theater like the Beacon (not to mention the Ryman). Frankly, I'm a little surprised about the timing given that this'll be the band's third appearance in the NYC area this year, but gratified that twelve years later, the group is pulling itself up another rung of a rough ladder. And while this won't impress many on this board, it's a sweet coincidence to me that the Beacon show will be my twentieth.

My twenty-first will be two days later in Albany. I've seen lots of shows at the Egg (you'll understand the name when you see the spherical shape of the building) but never imagined I'd drive there to see the Truckers. I can't help but wonder what all the
rail-birds think about the move into sit-down theaters, but am also curious as to how (or if) the band's show will reflect its move to these different kind of venues. But the bottom line is this: we can be very proud of our favorite band.

Do they not draw well in Cleveland? When they pulled through Columbus & Detroit last fall, I thought we'd get a show this year for sure!

I love the Beacon (go every year for the Allmans). I just hope people stand/dance rather than sit in the theater. Typically at ABB shows, the floor stands and the balconys/loge sit. Let's do better and all stand for the rock show!

In my experience, they draw better in Cleveland than they do in Columbus

Although I think its great they are playing a venue as big and nice as the Beacon is, I really have no desire to see them there. Looks like Dewey Beach and Bethlehem for me.

It will hard for this Central Pennsylvanian to pass up DBT on a Saturday night with St Paul and the Broken Bones. Would love to see them at Musikfest as well, that's a pretty interesting venue. Wish I could see one of the shows with Houndmouth, one of my favorite albums of the year.

Slight correction…the Irving Plaza show was on 9/17/04. I was there too and it was indeed sublime.
Have a great time at the Beacon. I'll be sorry to miss the show.

Wow, a charlotte show, awesome! They havent been here in, well, i'd love if i could check oneofthesedays, but its been several years. Pretty much figured they gave up on here. Psyched for the show, tho i wish they were playing a different venue. Filmore is a ticketbastard venue so talking $10 tallboys and such but at least i save on travel and gas, right?
Just cause I don't run my mouth don't mean I got nothing to say...

Wow, the Ryman !!!! I would love if the Oxford and Nashville shows worked for me but, Atlanta and Birmingham may be more realistic.
