Anybody traveling to Florence from out of town had any luck using Priceline or any other services to find a semi-cheap hotel in the area?

So my buddy who was suppose to go bailed out. Yes, I have an extra ticket now. At least for the time being. What I'd really like to do is trade it for a VIP pass cause now I'll be going by myself. I'm not gonna miss it for nothing!! and yes I realize how crazy lucky I am to have gotten through (actually my wife got through) I struck out in 1 second. So if anybody is willing to trade a VIP pass for a ticket hit me up. I do not want to profit off of this situation and if I need to pay a little extra for a VIP then I'd be glad to.

I guess it was too much to hope that none of this would happen. But still, I guess only 2 tix is not bad. No doubt the sellers are going to contribute the proceeds to the cause

I'm gonna guess (hope?) that the $2200 guy is going to eat that ticket or be seriously disappointed w/ what he gets*. $700? I hope not, but I could see that happening.

Which raises the question, what show would I pay $2200 to see? The only 2 I could come up with are a reunion of all 4 beatles or the resurrection of jimi hendrix backed by an all star band of my choosing.

*Perhaps he's thinking he'll either get his price or just go to the show.

Righteous! I wish they were auctioning them off one at a time. I'd bid on that (even though I know I'd probably not win). But I'm not complaining. (At least, not about this.) They're doing it the right way: "All of the proceeds over the tickets' cost will be donated to the Terry Pace benefit. Now, we're no StubHub..."

So utilizing the power of crowd sourcing, what bid do y'all think will win the pair of tickets?

I'm guessing $350 for the pair.

They updated the FB post...from the emails they already reviewed, high bid is currently $500...I think they go for $850.

Yet another awesome fundraising effort for Terry Pace and his family:

The benefit concert for - Terry Pace & his family at the Shoals Theatre - this Sunday June 15th at 7pm is SOLD OUT. However... COUNTS BROTHERS (in an effort to extend the fundraising and help with Terry's recovery) have donated a Blond Standard Fender 6 String Acoustic Guitar with Rosewood frets. Concert goers for that evening (Mike Cooley, Patterson Hood, and Jason Isbell will be playing) can enter to win by making a $5 dollar donation. The three musicians will be AUTOGRAPHING the guitar. It will be a ONE OF A KIND... very special guitar (autographed by current and former members of THE DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS. You can make as many $5 dollar donations as long as the tickets hold out. Chances to win (which will be drawn from a magic hat at the end of the concert) can be purchased in the theatre lobby prior to and during the show. You must be present to win. You must be present to win. You must be present to win. Lets have a good time. You must be present to win.

There is a bar around the corner called "On The Rocks" that is ok. Speaking of alcohol, Florence doesn't sell booze on Sunday except in restaurants. You may want to mule some in on your way into town.

There are other places to drink downtown, but On the Rocks is more or less your only bar option in that area. There is a restaurant across the street from it called City Hardware that has good food and serves beer. Ricatoni's is beside that and has booze as well.

There is an "open jam" at OTR after the show. Several local folks are setting up their instruments and will rotate in and out, so there's no telling who may or may not show up over there for that.

BTW, I'll be working at the concert in some capacity either at the door, merch booth, or whatever. Once I find out what I'll be doing, I'll let y'all know in case anybody wants to say hello.

I am up for some pregame as well. Where do we meet ?
If anyone is in town for the weekend, "DP's" in Sheffield is a spot I have drank a bit in the past and I do believe some of the Muscle Shoals elite show up and play occasionally. It may be a bit too far from the venue to pregame and they may not even be open on Sunday.....I can't remember.

From what I remember reading in another thread, Isbell has relaxed his anti-recording/filming policy. Personally, I hope it's going to be professionally recorded. As other folks have suggested, that would be a good way to raise more money for the cause.

If there was a magic me (of course I would be rich & obligationless), I would be front & center for this one. As it is, I hope they play John Henry, DD & Outfit & I someday get to hear the recording.

We made it to Florence late last night. It's been a hell of a week so I think one hell if a show is in order and the fact that it's helping a great family in need makes it all the more sweet. Bring it on!
