You all are amazing for getting this done so fast! We got back to Indiana this afternoon and it all seems like a dream...did that really happen? I've seen a lot of shit, but I have to say, last night beats all! That was the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life, it was beautiful! I'm not one bit ashamed to admit the tears were flowing through the first 5 or 6 songs. If I never see another show, I honestly think the memory of last night would carry me through. I'll be right there with Tequila Cowboy...talking about last night in my rocking chair at the nursing home! (hopefully trading shots)
Holy Shit. I'm a little late, but I've got goosebumps and I'm welling up like a little baby watching Decoration Day and Outfit. I love these guys. Seeing their huge smiles just makes my goosebumps get goosebumps. Man oh man oh man. That's better than sliced bread. I'm not an incredibly religious man, and no disrespect to y'all who are, but that there is The Trinity.
Would love to see them do one of them flip flop tours like they did with the Hold Steady & Booker T. On the nights DBT closes, Jason could join them for the encore. On the nights Jason closes, Patterson & Cooley could join him for the encore. Just a thought.......... Of course we'd have to catch them on a 2 night run.
and that pussy Alec Baldwin blew that girl away, and speaking of pussy Steve got it all!
Does anyone happen to have any photos of the merch they sold for this event? Also, were there any camera crews there that looked like they might have been prepping a professional quality DVD for release?
The t-shirt and posters pretty much looked like the "internet flyers" you've seen for the show. Poster exact match...T-shirt black with white lettering.
It did not appear that they were professionally filming the show. Here's a picture of the poster. They were selling signed ones for $25 and un-signed for $10. Both were sold out before the show started. They also had shirts that matched the poster for $30. My poster got soaked by a spilled beer during the show, hence the water-logging. I'd love to see a picture of the signed posters they were selling, as they were long gone before I got to the front of the line. I got mine signed by all three after the show and the wetness of the poster definitely affected the quality of the signatures, but I don't really care.
FYI-- Keep on Smiling is only part of the song. It cuts off just as Jason is coming in. Not sure if that's because the original source recording is cut off or if it was accidentally cut off when making the individual tracks. Either way, just a heads up. Thanks again for doing this!
Hope my daughter grows up to be a world-famous artist one day, or else I'm afraid what little value my poster had is gone after she defaced it today, lol.
In fairness to your daughter, her "autograph" isn't significantly less legible than Cooley/Hood/Isbell's. Maybe you could just pass it off as one of theirs.
I talked to Jane, the event coordinator about the merch. She said she had no idea that it would sell so well and wished they would have had more available. They only had 125 posters total and 135 t-shirts. I was lucky enough get a signed one, I'll cherish it forever!

Thanks! I went to the full show mp3 and was able to grab the full version of Keep on Smiling.
The full show mp3 is missing parts of Cartoon Gold and Alabama Pines, though. Anyone know of another source that has full versions of those songs? The sound disappears in and out for chunks of those two songs on the full show mp3.
