I really don't have words to describe the show last night, magic is close but doesn't quite do it. I've spent ten years on this crazy train of loving this music and while it's always been great, whether it's DBT having fun and doing what they do or seeing Jason move from playing to thirty people to packing huge rooms, this was truly, truly something else. The fact they played this show out of love for their friend set the stage for the smiles and special moments that kept happening all night long. This was one of those very special musical moments in time that you never forget so if you wander across me in thirty years telling tales of this one from my perch at the old folks home indulge me will ya because it won't be just a tall tale, it will be a true story. What a real privilege this was.

8 hours ago, I was still driving back home. At work now and feel like total crap. 1000% worth it. This show was truly special. I got in the car to drive home and had to turn off the radio for the two and a half hour drive ---I wanted to hold on to the echoes in my mind for a little longer.


ETA---I saw someone with recording equipment outside before the show--not sure if he made it in with the recorder or not.

I'm pretty sure FAME does tours through the week. We stopped by yesterday just to look around the outside and the guy working just happened to come out on a smoke break. He took us and 2 others that were there on a unofficial tour of the place. It was really cool, I'd highly recommend seeing it.

At one point (had to be in the 2nd half of the show 'cause that's all i caught) Patterson was talking about how the show was totally unplanned and somebody shouted a request and Patterson said something like "except that one; we definitely planned on not playing that one, no we're not gonna play that one." Anybody know what song it was?

The special nature of the show came through loud and clear on the super high quality stream. Youze were some lucky motherfuckers.

I made it into the VIP. It was pretty cool. About 75-100 people in a space with some food laid out. Jason, Patterson and Cooley came through and talked, signed autographs & took pictures with pretty much everybody that asked. They were all super cool and gracious, especially after just stepping off stage.
