As Patterson noted during the show ("It took us 18 years to get here...hope we come back in 18 months."), tonight's show was the first that DBT had ever played in Wichita. As my mom grew up in Wichita and I've visited many times, I decided this show was a must for me to check out. I put out the word to some friends and was happily joined by SandyMO & her husband George (from Nixa, MO) and Crispy (from Stillwater, OK). Some of you may remember that these good people were also at the Cain's Ballroom show in Tulsa in January 2013.
The Orpheum is a former movie theater (built in 1922) that my mom went to for movies when she was growing up. The venue had fallen into disrepair but is now being renovated...slowly but surely. For example, the men's room looks wonderful but there's a hole in one of the upper corners of the ceiling above the balcony.
The Orpheum is a reserved seating venue and I was wondering how the crowd would be for this show. All 4 of us were a bit disappointed that so many people sat during the show. This is the ROCK SHOW, people...stand up already! Oh well...at least no one told us or the other people who were standing to sit down.
DBT seemed to be in a good mood despite the somewhat lackluster crowd and delivered a fine performance.

We are not worthy.
Lurleen and I were talking last night and guessing we wouldn't know anyone at the Wichita show. Then we saw a pic of WWB on FB and wondered why we doubted.
We call him Scooby Do, but Scooby doesn’t do. Scooby, is not involved
