If you start now, maybe you can bike there.
What used to be is gone and what ought to be ought not to be so hard

Had to compromise. Couldn't fit them all in the backyard

In! Can anyone recommend a decent hotel near the venue?
I keep it all together for the sake of the kids.

Stayed there last year. It got both mine and mrs btb's seal of approval.
Edit: Forgot to say: Ask for a room near the elevators. The hallways are amazingly, impossibly long - the building must have been built for another purpose. Sounds ridiculous, but trust me on this.

Just tried to book this hotel and there are no rooms available on 6/28. Just a heads-up to others who might be looking for accommodations.

Damn, I checked before I put up the link and you could book a room. Probably a lot of high school graduations going on with grandparents coming from out of town
Always go to the show

One set gone, the other set under consideration, but it never hurts to ask.

Since this show is in my wife's family's home turf, we've encouraged her brother (and Streisand-fan) wife, and niece (and Michael Jackson-fanatic husband) to join us at the rock show. Can't wait for the big to-do, but also can't help but wonder if it'll serve to reaffirm my status as the family outlier. Sounds like a song.

I've found that it's usually best not to bring newbies to shows unless you are pretty sure they're going to like it. If they're not into it, they can become a drag. If they're into Barbra and MJ, that's not a good sign.

Re: DBT on Long Island 6/28
I'm kind of joking, but also not going to let the family kill my buzz-- after all, one of them will be the designated driver. And even the Streisand and MJ fans have a good time seeing my blues-rock band. I also suspect my wife's older brother, a classic rocker, will be my ace in the hole, and perhaps confirm my belief that if the Truckers had existed in 1975, they'd have been (to repeat myself) a big to-do.

We'll be in NY, but unfortunately can't attend Stone Pony or Huntington show...Grrr!

I'm pretty sure if DBT had started in '75, they'd be household names.

This. My buddy Mike was at night 2 of Homecoming with me this past year. He says he had a great time and has raved about it ever since. But...he was on his dang phone the entire time texting with somebody. This shouldn't have affected my enjoyment of the show at all but I found it distracting.
