We really wanted to make these shows work, especially because today is our 15th anniversary, but we just couldn't do it.

John A Arkansawyer wrote:Oh, I know y'all don't know him. If you did, we'd've seen more (if it exists). What I was suggesting was more like this: Get some police uniforms and roust the club shortly after the encore. Seize everyone's video equipment and demand to check through it for copyright violations. If you find someone whose camera work looks like that guy's, hustle him out to an unmarked vehicle and question him while driving to Stockton. Tell him that if he comes through with more footage, you won't leave him at the bus station there to wait for a ride home. If he has the footage, thank him for it and give him the unmarked vehicle (which I presume is stolen) for a tip.

Why do I always have to spell this stuff out?

If anyone is going to be in Napa in time for a pre show beverage or few,
may I suggest Downtown Joe's, a short block from the venue.

Oh, man, that was a fun show.

My highlights:

Incredible acoustlic Pauline Hawkins. Daddy Needs a Drink - thank you, Patterson.

Super-fun White Knuckle West Virginia - plus my friend had never heard it before, so it was great to watch her have that pleasure.

Looking forward to Napa! Hope I can get a 20-minute nap in after work....

So, a patterson hood solo show featuring about 4 solo songs. LOL. That's not a complaint or criticism, just another interesting twist in an interesting twisty career.

See, I know the lesson for me from this: Always go to the show. I was _this_ close to walking out of work Wednesday and catching that remarkably cheap flight out and paying through the nose to come back, but the kid, so. That's quite the set list, and I figure White Knuckles WV has to be a new song every time.

Apparently Bobby Weir was there w Steve Liesman of CNBC (bobby being one of the owners and all that). Bob wasn't familiar w Patterson or DBT but they chatted backstage, Patterson filled him in on how his dad knew Keith and Donna. My buddy took a shot of Patterson and the Bobstar.

Shit. I think I should get some extra music snob points for being so ridiculously frantic. And it is a good video, isn't it?

Nobody should be forced to go to Stockton. Even if Chris Isaak and Grant-Lee Phillips are from there. They both left.

My next trip out, I'm planning to go to Stockton, where our last minister found his new church, but this is consensual Stocktoning. (Stockton Syndrome?)

Grant Lee Phillips is actually from Copperopolis, which is a little east of Stockton on Hwy 4.

Copperopolis? I didn't know there was significant Greek immigration to California.
