I'm going to stay up. Wasn't going to to, and Lurleen says she can't do it, but what the hell? Looking forward to it.

Long day at work. I'm gonna watch - just thinking I might need to set the alarm for 11:00 pm just in case I doze.

I'm guessing this is Matt Patton's first time to play a national talk show? I bet he will have a huge grin...

Sounded good and looked like they were having fun. Plenty of screen time for EZB :)

As I don't live in the US I have never watched the Conan show before. Maybe my imagination, but it struck me this performance wasn't as "live" as it could have been and appeared pretty polished in a way I don't normally associate with live DBT. Was it pre-recorded? Didn't appear to be an audience present, despite the "applause" at the start and end of the performance. I guess what I'm trying to say is, as fantastic as it sounded, the performance may have benefited from some sonic "touch ups" before it was broadcast.

That's the first time in I can't remember how long I've seen Cooley play through something other than a Sommatone. Looked like a Fender Deluxe Reverb maybe? Possibly a back line amp from the Conan show? :ugeek:

Would have been a lot of bleeping. Thank goodness for the evolution of cable TV. I can still remember watching Risky Business on TBS some years ago and they had to edit the line "Guido the killer pimp" to "Guido the killer pickle" and now we have Cooley on my Tee Vee singing about shaming whores. Now that's progress for you.

Rocking performance!! Great stuff.

The two things that jumped out at me 1) Tempo. Much like Self Destructive Zones, it seems like the live version of SSC will be played at a quicker tempo than the studio version. Not a bad thing but they flew right through it. 2) EZB! Homeboy didn't have any toms and only one cymbal. High hat, snare, bass drum and ride cymbal, that's some scaled down shit for a drummer. Which got me thinking, does the studio version not have any tom fills? Either way, pretty cool to play such a rocking number with such a minimal kit.

My understanding is that there is one tom fill on the record.
